I am sorry for being absent from the Castle for so long, but my wife has been fighting cancer. It started as lung cancer and then spread to the lymphatic system and on to the other organs. It has been a long and costly battle that ended Friday 11/27/2015 at 7am. She has been in severe pain for several months and I could and would not leave her side, I took care of her by myself until the last week when our daughter came to help out.
I hope in the near future to be more active in the Castle as I will need to recollect some coins as I sold almost everything I had to help pay the bills which mount up quick for cancer treatments, one of the Chemo pills they tried her on (Tarceva) cost $7000.00 for a 30 day supply, and of course our insurance would not cover it. I am thankful for the fact that I had a fair collection of coins and quite a few silver rounds and bars, although I did not get rid of any of the KOTCT medals I have. I will still be paying off some of the bills for a few years to come but everything will work out in the end and she would have wanted me to continue on with the coin collecting.
Just wanted to let everyone know that I am still around and will return and be more active in the near future.
Thanks

I am so sorry to hear this Marion and you have my deepest sympathy.
I too have been dealing with Lymphoma since February of 2013 and just recently found that it has returned. I was not as fortunate as you when it came to paying the bills. I'm just a little over 1.8mil in medical debt right now. I go Monday to have a lymph node removed for biopsy and if it turns up positive I will likely better than double this amount. They have already told me that if it is positive, I would need to go through an aggressive chemo to start and right after go through a bone marrow transplant. Needless to say I'm hoping that the surgery results will be good.
God be with you and your family.

Sorry to hear this
My deapest sympathy
It is an unhappy fact of life that money and documentation needs are agravating the suffering
Over here you inherit from yourself and you have to pay inheritance taxes on about half of the net value
My wife died 14 month ago and it will be another 3 -6 months before I have paid the last income taxes over 2014
( My wife did not work but the law requires two income tax statements under all circumstances )

Thanks all for your condolences I appreciate them. We were married for 47 years but it doesn't seem like that long.
I still haven't gotten all the bills in yet but I know the amount will be extreme, but I would pay twice that amount if I could have her back and in good health, as she was in severe pain the last few weeks, which there was no relief from. The cancer destroyed 3 of her thoracic vertebra and wrapped around the abdominal aorta, both of which caused severe pain.
Thanks again for everyone
will be back soon I hope
