I thought about getting this on slabbed, but decided it wasn't worth the expense, although I think it would be a high grade. It's one of the most pristine proof coins I have seen.

My favourite colour and metal...silver.
Wow, very nice and a very high grade by the looks of it.
-
WIth my luck a beauty like that would probably tone in the slab which would set me on fire! I have never had a coin tone in an airtite but have seen some outstanding coins turn to ______ in a slab! The high grade Eagles are Americas most beautiful modern day coin, in my humble opinion, but slabbing is not on my agenda.
-
Beautiful coin.
Looks near perfect.
:) :) :) :)

i love them best american coins made since the 50s era but dont own one cost too much for me!! :P

I LOVE proof silver eagles. My dad usually gives them out for Christmas, so Hopefully I'll have a 2007 next moneth ;)
I have no interest in getting them slabbed though. I have a 1995 (no W) which has gone up alot in value.

I agree with you all. It was a passing idea, but fortunately it did pass. I also like these proof type the best, and this one is stunning to me.
-
I finally finished my set of ASE's, mostly UNC but, a few Proofs. I can't agree with you more they are truly beautiful!!! They are all in Air Tites!
-
I myself have a few UNC, but some of them are starting to tone, but I got them in a trade and that's the way they arrived.
-
Toning is in the eye of the beholder. Some coins I enjoy the toned qualities and others I don't. The ASE Proofs are just too beautiful without toning. Yours is a beaut! Thanks for posting!
My coin photography doesn't do this pic any justice. They are all UNC's with no toning although you couldn't tell by the pic. I enjoy looking at them and ofcourse, collecting them.
-
Debbie,
You're right, the photo doesn't do them justice, but they are an impressive lot, non the less. I envy you!
-
Fantastic Debbie....especially now that I can see them. :P
-
Just from my personal experience, the unc silver eagles tone, and the proofs don't.
-
So far so good on my UNC's as they are all in "rounds". There's nothing like the Proofs though (oh well there probably are) and Dumanyu's is so pretty.
-
I need to take inventory one of these days.
I buy a proof each year I can afford to, but am not sure if I have them all.
They certainly are beautiful coins.

Well it seems you MUST get the daughter(s) signed up for the KOTCT as they got some pretty darn big shoes to fill!!! And, seeing how they are your kids will they be able to sit on my side of the table where they would be safe? ;D

Ouch! I was thinking once I'd caught up on the State quarters, I'd start on the American Eagles. Was going to settle for Unc set, but after seeing your pic, Dumanyu, I think I want proofs. Unfortunately, seeing as I'd be starting from scratch, don't like my chances though.

Or take the advice of this old bird and put the same money into the CLASSICS as, after all, they are not making them any more! You not only get the coins but the history to go with them.

:D
Dumanyu:
Wonderful Proof Silver Eagle. As another Friend, said, they are in AIR TIGHT capsules. He is correct. Hence slabbing will not be that much necessary.
The Proof Coins will also eventually, get toned according the admospheric conditions, where they are stored.
You make everyone surprised with wonderful coins. Keept it up.

Thank you George,
That, to me, is the best psrt of collecting. Showing and telling.
