Title: A few pop out (repousse) coins, and a mystery symbol
Post by: SirStacksALot on July 26, 2014, 09:03:51 AM
I picked up a few "pop out" coins recently, and I figured I would share some pictures.  I can't seem to find many modern pop out coins, and some of the older ones are pretty pricey. Does anyone know of some good places that sell modern pop out coins?  Here are some pics of the Kennedy Half Dollar pop out that I picked up recently.

I found this pair of pop out pennies on ebay for a few bucks.  Does anyone know what the symbol on the wheat penny on the left is?

Those Kennedy pop out coins look kind of spooky.

Sir StacksaLot,

The emblem stamped into the Masonic Penny is a representation of Tubal Cain, a figure from the bible who plays a large part in Masonic Symbolism.

The symbol itself is a pun.  Two Ball Cane.  Two balls on either side of a cane, representing the name Tubal Cain.  :)
