Post by: Templar on January 23, 2014, 10:27:05 PM
WELL THIS WINTER HAS BEEN LONG AND HARD ---EVERY OTHER DAY OR SO WE HAVE GOTTEN 1 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW AND IT HAS BEEN AT OR BELOW O DEGREES F. FOR ABOUT 6 DAYS NOW--TODAY THE HIGH IS TO BE 9 DEGREES F. THEN GOING DOWN TO -2 DEGREES TONIGHT WITH 3 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW-----IT WILL BE BELOW 15 DEGREES FOR THE NEXT 6 DAYS ACCORDING TO THE WEATHERMAN WHO CONTINUES TO STAND OUTSIDE AND TELL US HOW COLD IS AND HOW FROST BITE CAN BE SO DANGEROUS---DA LIKE WE WOULDN'T FIGURE THIS OUT OURSELVES-----WE USE SALT ON OUR ROADS BUT AT THESE LOW TEMPS THE SALT DOESN'T WORK VERY WELL BUT IT DOES LEAVE THE CARS A FROSTY GREY COLOR AND IF YOU TAKE YOUR CAR TO A CAR WASH YOUR LOCKS FREEZE EVEN PARKED IN A GARAGE------JUST LETTING OFF STEAM---I REALLY LOVE WINTER BUT WHEN I GO OUT I AM FORCED TO DRIVE WITH MORONS WHO THINK THAT SNOW, ICE AND COLD WEATHER MEANS DRIVE FASTER NOT SLOW DOWN SO I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF CARS PASS ME GOING SIDEWAYS---TALK ABOUT A FUNNY LOOK ON SOMEONE'S FACE...................

I don't envy you Joe.
We complain about the heat, but I think I would rather that, than the snow and ice.

Winter is nice. It affords better sleeping at night instead of sweating and the tossing and turning. At this time of year, we're not bothered by flies, mosquitos,  bee stings, and having a vehicle overheat. Family members seem to congregate more in the late afternoon and evening when the sun is down and the temps begin to drop. Now and then it's fun to go to an abandoned parking lot and spin donuts on the snow. Ah yes, I look forward to it every year.

You folks up north try and overdo every thing. We had snow and freezing here also but you can only handle so much. Last night was the last night below freezing for about a week I think. Temps should be in the lower 60's most of the week.  8)  8)  8)  8)

Joe, when you take a picture of your backyard and there is Polar Bear there instead of a dog, then you know you have a problem. :)

Geeze, it ain't fair. Two days ago I had to clear my driveway of 6" (14.5 cm) of snow. Tonight, Feb 19th, I just found out that we're getting around 8" (20 cm) more snow from  tomorrow noon through Friday. It's comparatively mild now at 36 F (3 C) and yesterday was the 1st day in almost 11 weeks that we got above 32 F (0 C). It's around 11:20 pm now on Wednesday and around 1:20 PM on Thur., Feb 20th in Perth and your temp is 95 F (35 C)? IT JUST AIN'T FAIR! And Joe.....it looks like you're going to get this snow Friday through Saturday.....and this will give Steve another laugh.

I hate this heat, but at least we can still move around freely,
and no driveways and paths to clear.
