Title: Any fishermen or fisherwomen in the castle?
Post by: AdamL on October 06, 2013, 12:04:50 PM
I'm still a coin collector. But I've gotten very much into another hobby; Fishing, especially bass fishing. I fished a lot growing up, but I just got back into it last year, and have gotten really serious about it in the last couple of months. Anyone else like to throw a line in the water?

My brother has always gone fishing.  I never got into it.

I do recall the Stargate TV program and fishing:

Teal'c: There appears to be no fish in this pond O'Neill.

Col. O'Neill: T... It's not about the fish themselves...the fish are not important in this context. It's about fishing... the act of.

A few moments later when Teal'c speaks to Daniel Jackson on a cell phone.

Teal'c: Daniel Jackson. We have caught nothing. We are fishing.

Ken

Fishing is nice. Nothing like siting on the river bank relaxing, 8) watching the floater bouncing in the water, :) sun reflecting back in my face, :o bugs biting my neck, ::) sharp rock sticking me in the rear :o. I'm out of here. I think I will go to Capt. D's and get me some fish.   ;D  ;D  ;D

My neighbor is a true sport fisher with many trophies
When he cannot fish because it freezes too hard he goes nuts
Only fishing relaxes him .
To me it is like football ; you run to get the ball and then you get rid of it as fast as possible
He throws back his fishes
Only river eel will he bring home
Now he is lucky since we live on a canal so the water is in front of us and he can walk out
and fish a few hours
He likes to use vers de vase those tiny red worms when he can afford to buy them
Otherwise he uses white flyworms or earthworms

I lived in a coastal village in Papua New Guinea for ten
years back in the Seventies. Did a lot of fishing.

My best catch was a Bigmouth Groper that weighed 155 Kilos.
It was longer than me.

Spanish Mackerel were the most common fish we caught.
I now live 150 kilometers from the sea and miss the fishing!!!

regards  MUCKEYE.

My brother was fishing in the river Thames in London, many years ago, and he
caught a Sun fish. Apparently so unusual that he even made it into the newspaper.

Wow. We have sunfish here. But they must not be native to the U.K.

I wouldn't have thought they would be native to U.K
Maybe it lost it's way in the murky water, :)
