Just ot let the Moderators know, I had gall bladder surgery on Feb 25th and during this they had to biopsy a mass they seen while poking around inside me. The results came back and on top of having no job, the gall bladder ordeal, now they are telling me I have lymphoma. I have been undergoing a multitude of tests since then and without going into any of the gross details, it is a real good dose of it. On 3/25 they are implanting an IV port into my chest to give me the chemo treatments through. Wednesday the 27th it's into radiology for a series of heart scans. Then likely by the beginning of next week they will start pumping in the poison. Not sure yet when the radiation treatments will start yet, I'm guessing just as soon.
I'm going to continue doing my regular monthly backups but, I won't be spending much more additional time on the site for a while.
Twoshadows is aware of what is going on and he works at the same place with my brother and he is keeping him up to date on all that's going on.
All for now,
TKO

I have talked with Terry and well aware of his upcoming treatments. Having a small dose of cancer last spring I am well aware of the tremendous emotional pressure that is put upon an individual during such times. He knows our thoughts and prayers will be with him and his family during this trying time.

Nothing new to report. Saw Terry the other day in town but he didn't see me in passing. At least he is still up and around. Will try to get with him soon.

Well, I completed my second chemotherapy treatment yesterday and as expected I'm feeling pretty run down. Luckily I haven't experienced any nausea. Other than that and being extremely broke, all is well. Cathy and the kids are an enormouse help too. I've just about lost all my hair. All for now...
-
Great to hear from you Terry....glad that you are reasonably well after treatment.
As for the loss of hair......think of how much you will save now that you do not have to go to the barbers for haircuts? :D

An upside after all...

I have completed 2 of 6 full treatments (they take about 8 hrs to administer)
After this they will run me throught all of the testing (blood, bone marrow, bone sample, pet scan, heart bulbar and chest xray) to see where I stand and where do we go from there.
Then I'm scheduled to receive a maintenance treatment every 2 months for 2 years to initiate a remission program.
I'm already over it and it is just actually starting.
Oh well...I'm keeping my chin up and hoping for the best. That's all I've got.
All for now,
TKO

How did I miss this thread before?
Terry, my thoughts are with you and
I wish you a speedy recovery.

Hey Steve,
I had placed this originally in the Royal Chambers for the Admin and Moderators to absorb first. There are lots of other people I didn't want to be left out of the loop so I moved it into General Discussion for all to know.
You were the first to comment outside the Chamber!
My hats off to you and appreciate your thoughts and wishes.

Had a message from Terry (TKO) giving an update:
I had my 4th of 6 treatments Monday. Really feel like shit (for lack of a better word) today. It will only get worse for the net 10 to 15 days. Not spending much time on the computer. Looking at the screen makes me get headaches. I will keep you posted and if you would like to pass this info along to the rest of the gang, I'm ok with that.
Thanks for asking and take care...
