In 1997, "Western Samoa" officially changed it's name to plain old "Samoa", much to the annoyance of eastern (American) Samoa.

Post-1997 coins, that no longer use the word "western" (or the Samoan equivalent, "i sisifo") are on my wantlist. ;)
