If they are gray I'd say you let your potato's set out too long before you cooked them.  ;D

YOU GRATE THE POTATOES---RINCE IN COLD WATER----PAT DRY----MIX WITH FLOUR/PANCAKE MIX---EGG----HEAT PAN VERY HOT WITH OIL AND ADD POTATOES-----
COOK TO TASTE--PUT SALT AND PEPPER ON THEM AND IF YOU LIKE ONIONS--DICE SOME UP IN THE MIX BEFORE FRYING---

IF YOU REALLY WANT TO WAKE UP THE DAY--DICE A JALAPENO UP IN THE MIX ........

I picked up some Brat just now. The fat is not too insane-26 grams
a link. Got more potatos (without the "e") some eggs and an onion.
So, I'll check back this afternoon. I think if cut back to couple teaspoons
of flour instead of a cup it'll be okay.

Trying to escape the inferno Steve with a cruise? I'll be in Australia, New Zealand, and Tasmania (again) on a cruise from Feb 6th to the 20th. I hope our ships don't collide....or burn at the various docks. Gonna be +95 F (+35 C) in Sydney this coming weekend and +12 F (-11 C) here as our high.

Well Templar I think I finally got 'em right. I think
the ones from yesterday turned grey because I
didn't rinse them after I shredded them. Glad I
didn't eat that batch.  :o But  I have 11 pancakes
5 Brat links and a 1/4 bottle of Peach Schnapps for
tonight.   ;D  Thanks for the tips.

Goose, I'm not sure Fiji is going to be any cooler. We will be at sea about the same time, so we might have to watch out for collisions. Just out of interest, Australia had it's hottest day ever a few days ago, the national average temp was 40.3C. Bring your sunblock cream.
