Title: FEAST OF ST. NICHOLAS----OR SINTERKLAAS
Post by: Templar on December 05, 2012, 08:27:03 AM
A VERY HAPPY ST. NICHOAS TO ALL THE BELIEVERS AROUND THE WORLD AND THERE MUST BE MANY BECAUSE JUST LOOK AT OUR CASTLE AND SEE HOW MANY BELIEVE IN IN DRAGONS AND UNICORNS AND WIZARDS............
SOME OF US KNOW HIM AS SANTA CLAUS AFTER THE DUTCH SINTERKLAAS...........
AND HE IS A PATRON SAINT TO MANY PEOPLE OF SAILORS---CHILDREN---ARCHERS----THIEVES---PAWNBROKERS---PHARMACISTS--COOPERS--THE FALSELY ACCUSED AND BROADCASTERS---SO MANY OF OUR FELLOW KNIGHTS SHOULD KEEP HIM IN MIND-------THE CUSTOMS FOR THIS DAY VARY BUT HANGING ONE'S STOCKING ON THE CHIMNEY FOR ST. NICHOLAS TO PUT GOODIES INTO COMES FROM THE LOW COUNTRIES PRACTICE OF PUTTING THEIR SHOES OUT THIS NIGHT---IT DIDN'T TAKE LONG TO REALIZE A STOCKING HELD MORE THAN A SHOE.........SO GET READY AND BE NICE BECAUSE ST NICHOLAS IS COMING

AND ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TO BELIEVE..................................

I know this sounds weird, but 4 yrs ago I receive a beautifully emblazoned Chicago Cubs 'Stocking'. I hung it by the upstairs fireplace with a note sticking out of it....'World Series'. Well, although it's been hanging there for years, nothing has happened since I hung it. Actually, NOTHING has happened in 104 years. Maybe I should keep mumbling, "I believe, I believe", like in the movie 'Miracle on 34th Street'.

Detroit Tigers socks? Shame on you! Back in October of '45, the Tigers beat the Cubs in the World Series. Ahh, such fond memories.....the last time the Cubs were in the series.....67 YEARS AGO!
