CONGRATS TO PAINT YOUR WAGONS' NEIGHBORS FOR MAKING IT TO THE WORLD CUP FINALS--------NOT SURE IF YOU FOLLOW THE SOCCOR CLUBS-----FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN---SOME PEOPLE LIVE AND DIE OVER THIS-----ITS JUST A BALL-----GET OVER IT

We are halfway thru Germany - Spain and Germany is having problems with Spain  :D
0-0 for the moment
They said that the cup was dominated by South America ; well there are only three Europeans left with Holland qualified for the finals and they would like to play against Germany to get even for a slight of 30 years ago  :)
They may very well get Spain though

I only started watching from the quarter finals on . I am not a fan of football really .
( They call it football here )

AH...WINE AND WOODEN SHOES----WELL IT SHOULD BE INTERESTING WHOEVER WINS......GET YOUR BEER AND FRIES OUT AUGUST.........I KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING OF THE RULES EXCEPT GET THE BALL IN THE NET WITHOUT YOUR HANDS......GEE THAT SEEMS LIKE HOCKEY....GET THE PUCK IN THE NET WITHOUT USING YOUR HANDS.......SOMETIMES IN A GOOD FIGHT A HOCKEY GAME BREAKS OUT----WILL IT BE LIKE THAT IN THIS GAME ??? ??? ???

In general I am not intrested in football

Depending on who is the referee you get punished for sliding feet first into somebody else's leg or feet if the ball is not between your feet and the contact with the opposite player
Whilst jumping to hit the ball with your head it is normally not allowed to hit the other guy with your elbow in the back .
The most common fault is offside . When an attacking team as a teammate that is behind the defense when the ball is passed and here we often talk like 5 inch or so ; seen in freeze picture replay .

Basically they play 45 minutes rest 45 minutes and if it is still zero goals another 15 minutes with a rest and another 15 minutes . When it is still zero they go to penalties .
One guy after the other shooting the ball at the goalkeeper from the penalty point .
It is amazing how often the keeper then catch the ball if he chooses the correct corner of the goal to dive too.

Sunday is the final
8 pm 20 greenwich plus 1

Holland and Spain both " muddled" thru some of the matches . If I were betting I would bet on Spain because they seem tireless ; which can come in handy .

In the midday news they just said that Belgian prognosticators have picked Spain to win
( That we do not really love Hollanders may have something to do with that )

Well, I was rooting for Germany. Now I'm pulling for Holland. Spain will probably win though  :-\
