Title: Mexian holiday inquiry
Post by: Tobyle on May 29, 2010, 01:48:30 AM
One of my work colleagues is planning on going to Mexico for 2 weeks for her honeymoon. Wondering about any 'must not miss' places of interest or 'must do' while there. Any ideas?

Must do #1 - bring back lots of Mexican coins.

Copper Canyon and Topolobampo on the Pacific Coast.  Overlooked by most foreign tourists, this is a very lovely part of Mexico that can be traversed by train.

Copper Canyon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copper_Canyon)

That said... I would caution on travelling to many parts of Mexico right now.  There are a lot of drug wars going on, there is very high crime and certain regions of the country should be avoided altogether.  Myself, I wouldn't travel there for the foreseeable future.
