Post by: Templar on May 10, 2010, 03:21:23 AM
WELL THE QUEEN GRANTED ME  A CHANCE TO SLIP AWAY TO A COIN SHOW ON MOTHER'S DAY AND I PICKED UP THREE ITEMS.......ONE I HAD ON LAY AWAY.....THE OTHER TWO I JUST HAPPENED TO PICK UP WHICH WILL PROBABLY TAKE CARE OF MY FATHER'S DAY.....THE FIRST IS A CENTENNIAL COLLECTION OF CANADIAN COINS ISSUED IN 1967....THEY ARE UNCIRCULATED....THE SECOND IS A 1914 $5 "HORSE BLANKET" NOTE...SO CALLED BECAUSE OF ITS LARGE SIZE .......AND THE THIRD IS AN 1896 $1 NOTE..CALLED AN EDUCATIONAL NOTE BECAUSE OF ALL THE SYMBOLS ON IT.......THERE IS A $2 AND A $5 BILL BUT I DON'T HAVE THE FINANCES RIGHT NOW ..THEY ARE ALL HORSE BLANKETS..........

  I HOPE YOU LIKE THEM.........YOUR SERVANT AND FRIEND........THE TEMPLAR(http://)

Ah, the 1967 Canadian centenial set...to me it is exquisite. I noticed this set some 25+ yrs ago and loaded up on them. If someone wants to collect silver (hoard), look into the silver (Pre-1968) Canadian P L (Proof Like) sets. They are selling quite less than the silver U S proof sets, whereas the Canadian P L sets have a total silver content of 1.1 oz compared to the U S proof sets of just .6 oz.

I really like the Educational Series note with both Martha and George Washington. You could tell your wife you only got the note becouse it reminded you of you and her together.  ;D

All looks very nice, Joe, but the OTC in me wants to reach into that Canadian set and straighten the one cent. LOL
