Amr, I need a couple of teeth capping. It would probably be cheaper for me to fly to Egypt and have them done there.

Most probably it will be :)

Six month ago, I had a patient from the states who's wife had some extensive dental procedures at my clinic and after she returned back to US i asked him if she was satisfied with what has been done.

The man said that he payed for her flight, and accomodation for one month in Egypt, she went to the pyramids, Luxor and Aswan...etc and had her teeth fixed and still what he paid is about half what he was going to pay at US to the dentist only.   :)

Thats really something Amr. Prices in the U.S. have skyrocketed with just about everything! It's hard for some of us to keep our heads above water (financially speaking). We seem to run out of money quicker than we used to. I guess the "black hole" has gotten much bigger over the last few years!!  :)

I think that "black hole" has spread to Aus as well.

I got a tooth capped a few years ago and it cost $1200, but my dentist wasn't one that the Health insurer recommended so I didn't get a full rebate and ended up $600 out of pocket.  If I go to the recommeded dentist I will get about $900 back on a cost of about $1300 each. Times that by two and I will be out of pocket $800.

Amr, what's the cost roughly of capping a molar?

Well since my doctorate degree is in fixed prosthodontics (crown and bridge) and i teach this speciality at the university, i decided after i finished my Doctorate degree to raise my fees.

So i charge my patients 1200 Egyptian Pounds for a Porcelain Fused To Metal Crown and 2000 Egyptian Pounds for an ALL Ceramic Crown "Fabricated by latest CAD/CAM technology".

See, its nearly the same range   :)
I mean for Egyptians, they will pay the same as you will pay to your dentist in Australia or US,
but for non Egyptians it is only 200$ and 350$ respectively.

If i could work in Australia or US but spend my money in Egypt that would be incredible  ;)

The going price in Belgium is 550 euro per tooth for porcelain over metal

But my wife shied away from the hipbone implants ( cost unknown ) but the implant and superstructure would be 1000 euro per implant and 4 to 8 are needed plus the teeth at 500 euro per tooth . However since she got fibromyalgie she is in constant pain and could not imagine somebody cutting bone out of her hips and saying that the small temp inconvenience would be hobbling about for a time

An implant at my clinic would cost you 6000 Egyptian pounds; about 1050$ :)

Forgot to say that this includes the Dental Surgeon fees, the implant, the crown placed on it and my fees as a prosthodontist  ;)

Social security paid like 500 $ for the radiology showing there was only 10 mm bone between the mouth and the sinusoidal cavity between places 8 and 18
I asked the Suisse firm Strauman whether a bridge like that with 4 implants would give biting comfort
http://www.straumann.com/
They phoned me ; the doctor and the dentist with result that everybody was mad at me for asking and I never got an answer from nobody . So I told them all to bugger off and took the free removable plate from social security . The surgeon was only interested in implanting hipbone and the dentist doctor seeing all responsibility would come to him shied away from any guarantees .
For the bottom teeths he took metal over porcelain for 9 teeth and gave the 9 th for free
Because it was outside support and he was not sure it would hold . He has been a specialised orthodontist doctor for 25 years now and drives the latest model Porsche .
