Templar, your German notes are what's called AMC, or Allied Military Currency. The 1 Mark, issued in 1944, is listed as P192a.  The 5 Mark, also issued in 1944, is P193a.   :)

The colorized state quarters ARE NOT U.S. Mint products!!! The colorized quarters from Canada ARE RCM products. There's the difference!  :)

I DON'T SEE THE POINT-----SOME COINS  I LIKE WITH COLOR ADDED----OTHERS I DON'T..............NOW THE NATIONAL PARKS SERIES MIGHT LOOK VERY GOOD WITH COLOR ADDED

The Park Series might look nice with some color in them, but it won't come from the U.S. Mint! They will be aftermarket productions, whereas the Royal Canadian Mint produces some of their coins in color. The U.S. Mint has NEVER done that, and probably never will!   ;D

I agree. If they came out of the mint that way, thats fine. But I don't personally care for post-mint coloring. To each his own though.

I got some Jefferson's with paintings on them in a trade once and they look fine but never have really liked them.

Canadian coins are colorized by their mint, U S coins aren't colorized by their own mint. Yes, it's redundancy (redundancy), but the Canadian mint has it all over the U S mint in designs, ideas, and promotions. In the mid 1960s I began to collect Canadian coins along with my U S coins. My collecting buddies always asked, "Why do you want to collect THAT stuff?" It's quite evident now.

I agree Sir Goose. The RCM (and many other foreign mints) are WAY AHEAD of the U.S. Mint on coin designs and other areas that we will probably NEVER achieve! Just look at other countries paper money for instance. Most of that stuff is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! How come we can't do that? We put a little bit of color into our notes, and everybody gets excited! Big whoop! We have just about the worst looking coins & paper money on the planet from an artistic standpoint! Just my opinion!   :)

You are absolutely right on that one! Walking Liberty halves, Standing Liberty quarters, Saint Gaudens double eagles, heck, even Buffalo (oops! I meant INDIAN HEAD) nickels. Now THOSE are beautiful designs. The CLASSICS if you will, of American coin designs, nowhere near the JUNK the U.S. Mint has been pumping out the last 50 years or so. Just my opinion.   :)
