Now it's snow and cold....the snow blower doesn't start, the car barely turns over to start, my heating bills are sky high, I have to go out in boots instead of slippers to get the paper, and I'm cold all winter long with my thermostat set at 42 degrees F. A SNOW DAY??? We didn't have any of that when I was going to school. I remember me and my friends walking knee-deep in that stuff going to school. WALKING! Not riding a bus, not driving in a car. WALKING! The only time I like winter is on Christmas day when I know I don't have to go nowhere, and I just sit and watch it out my front window as I'm sipping my COFFEE! The next day, it can all GO AWAY thank you!!! ;D

Templar, you are right on many things you mentioned. No, I'm not really a whimp, I really like the winter....sorta. When winter comes, it denies me my driving somewhat (25K/yr) and metal detecting. But, I still have 20 more days of goose hunting and I'm out every Saturday and Sunday. I'm wondering how many people in the winter get up around 7am and be out on the 'harvesting field' at sun up in 6" of snow when the temp is around +5 degrees F and a strong N W wind? Few. I'm really looking forward to winter now....I have to merge my brother's coin collection with mine so I know what I really have. It should take me around 3 weeks working a few hrs a night. He started to hoard coins in the early '50s.
