Title: Identification Help Needed
Post by: Nighthawk on November 29, 2009, 12:17:48 AM
I need some help with this one guys. I'm basically wanting to know WHEN & WHERE this medal was made. I picked it up for $2 at the State show. The dealer had no clue as to its origin or manufacture, hence the cheap price. The date on the reverse in Roman numerals is AD 1417, the first year of Martin V as pope, but I am highly doubtful that is the year of the medal's manufacture. It measures 1-1/2" in diameter, is convex shaped on the portrait side, has an enormous die-crack at about 12 o'clock, flat on the reverse side, and is most likely of brass. Thanks for your help folks!  ;D

Old Dan, I had been to that website before, and unfortunately they have placed a medal of Eugenius IV where Martin V should be. I will see if I can contact the professor on this matter. Thanks for your help sir.
