Does anyone know if the Mint plans to produce 2009 one ounce American Silver Eagles in proof condition this year?  Time would seem to be running out.

On Oct 6 the U.S. Mint announced that these coins would be canceled for 2009. Sorry  :(

Pocketcoins beet me too it. Yes, there is alot of uproar about it actually. I believe the cancelled some popular gold bullion option as well.

Due to the continued, sustained demand for American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins, 2009-dated American Eagle Silver Proof Coins will not be produced.

Yeah. Of course, they are so concerned with supplying their dealers who move thousands of the bullion version that they ignore the collector who wants to purcahse the proof version directly from the mint.
