Title: Eisenhower Dollar Question
Post by: CoinCrusader42 on July 29, 2009, 05:53:41 PM
I'm helping start grandkids on an Eisenhower Dollar collection.

While looking at the album we noticed that for some years the spaces for Dollars of the same year were marked Type 1 and Type 2.

Can someone explain what the difference is?

The 1776-1976 coins have different lettering on the reverse, the legend has thin and thick letters.

Gary if you have an old Redbook, they show pictures of both varieties.  ;D
