Looks real nice. It's the Hangar 9 Corsair. Do they say what squadron it was modeled after?

I think it's modeled after VF-114 "Executioners." USS Philippine Sea during the Korean War. Am I close?

Did you ever watch Bah Bah Black Sheep back in the 1970's? It was about Greg Boyington and a bunch of "misfits" that flew the Corsair in the S. Pacific against the Japanese. I think it ran an entire television season.

It's was a pretty good show. I wonder if he really flew with a pit bull in his plane? :o John Glenn flew a Corsair in WWll. He also flew a F-86 in the Korean war as a Marine pilot TAD to the Air Force.

There is something about piston engines, especially those turbo-charged Merlins that just gets the blood racing.
BTW I have a video on youtube of the takeoff in the Yak-42 airliner:

The Germans had a weird looking fighter called the Dornier DO-335. Max speed 475 mph at 21,000 feet. Scroll down and they have some vintage photos.

The Dornier DO-335... a great looking aircraft. I didn't realise how big it actual was until you see the men standing beside it. Really big!
