As today is Australia Day, I thought I would post some Aussie coins.

Steve,
You are a heck of a good scanner. The pictures are great. Nice coins.
I still have your instuctions as to how to post pictures, and one day I'll give it a shot. Really.
:) :) :) :)
-
Really nice coins. :) Now tell an old hillbilly what Australia Day is.
-
Pocketcoins, Australia Day is when we celebrate the landing of the First Fleet in 1788.
Some Aboriginal Australians call it invasion day.
Gary, thanks. These are photos not scans though.
Come on Gary, do it today. Today is as good as any day.
Nighthawk, thank you.

On the 26th of January 1788, a fleet of British ships laden with convicts made landfall in Sydney Cove, founding the penal colony of New South Wales - the first permanent European settlement in Australia.
It is celebrated as out national day - the equivalent of your Independence Day (July 4th).
-
:D
Thanks Steve. Happy Australia Day to all my Australian Friends
and well wishers.
George

Happy Australia Day to you Steve and to al Australian members :)
-
The day the prisoners landed in Australia is Independence Day. ???
Reminds of of the prisoners in New Hampshire jails, who make license plates with the state motto: "Live Free or Die". ::)
-
I should have to dig out my '33 overdates and image them all ups me thinks.
-
Happy Australia Day to all our friends in OZ!!!
We have something similar up here. From the first landing we have let all of our convicts run the government. Saves the taxpayers a ton of money running the prison system! ;D
-
Happy Australia Day!!
Amen to what Terry posted.
:) :) :) :)

Unfortunately there are plenty of crooks in the government AND in prison, and our taxes pay for both :D
HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY!!!

Uh, could we just send them to Oz and be done wi' 'em? ;D
-
If you send us all your crooks, we will have a population of 400 Million and you will have only 20 Million. LOL
