Title: Liberty Dollar
Post by: Triggersmob on January 19, 2009, 09:17:02 PM
I recently acquired this coin from Djluster in a trade and I was wondering what you could tell me about Liberty Dollars.
Are they legal tender? (not that you would want to spend it).

That's a US Statue of Liberty centennial commemorative, issued by the US Mint.

Here's more info:

Looks even better in real life. Don't photograph too well through plastic.

Edix, thanks for that link. I see now I was getting mixed up with Liberty Dollars and Statue of Liberty Dollar.

They made a Dollar and a Half Dollar both. And yes they do look real nice in real life.  :)

One time, way back when, I had the complete set of BU and proof; half, dollar and five dollar gold, all in the cherrywood case.

Nice coin.

When we visited the Statue of Liberty last summer, I meant to buy one of those.
