Just thought I would share this with you.
Tonight the Moon, Venus and Jupiter got together and formed a big smiley face.
I believe this can only be seen in Australia and wont be repeated again till 2036.

Thanks for sharing steve, did you take this photo :) I mean did you see this by your own eyes, because it must have been more beatiful than the photo :)

I heard on the news that it is visible here in the states if you look to the southwest. But I'm not sure if its the same smily face look. Its been too cloudy and snowing to see any planets or the moon where I live. I thought they said on the news that it wouldn't be visible again untill 2051 or something like that. I very well could be mistaken though.
Thanks for sharing! I was looking forward to seeing it, but like I said, its just too cloudy here in Missouri.

We din't see the night sky, but we did have an awesome view of the meeting tonight. Could even see it on the back deck!

Lots of cloud cover in western Colorado. However, did get to see it for a few moments. By the time I got my camera out, it was covered by clouds again.
I think the most spectacular thing for me in the night sky was the comet (Kahotec). Excuse the spelling. It was visable for many days (nights), and was so bright it could be photographed with an ordinary camera.
Over the years we have seen a partial solar eclipse, and several lunar eclipses. I got a fairly decent picture of a full lunar eclipse, with the moon appearing purple. Quite a sight.
:) :) :) :)

Yes I did take this pic, Amr.
It was rather hurried and I don't really know how to use the full functions of the camera, but it came out OK.
I'm glad I saw this yesterday, because today is totally overcast.

I saw a photo on an evening news broadcast. The smile was not quite as big as Triggersmob's! Our view last night was blowing snow with a wind chill that would make Sacagawea shiver. It was kind of funny as the same newscast reported the snow had moved out of Indiana by six in the evening. It was still snowing and blowing when I went to bed? Guess I don't live in Indiana any more? ;D
