Took these photos of a Brushpile Den this morning while out for a walk and believe me, upon seeing it got a kinda spooked feeling. It wasn't there last week. Oscar (Cairn Terrier) was really addled and tried to get away as fast as he could nearly dragging me with the leash. LOL... After taking him back up to the house I went back and took these photos w/o getting too close.
I've seen wild animal dens before but can't recall anything with the hide of an animal (rabbit) hung up like a marker or warning flag to others...

Well sir, as one might say it's WAY down near the creek and we're lousy with rabbits now as it is, so I'll hold off and see what happens... Besides all I've got for something like this is either a .22, shotgun, or a .308. No 30-06, LOL...

I'd say the .308 would get the job done :D
I have never seen anything like that either, with the hide hanging there.

I would say the rabbit tryed to get away from something and got cought in the wire. Then something bit it from behind.

Don't shoot. That's Hank Paulson's head in an alternative universe.
