:D
I hope, friendship between our countries will grow to a great extent.
I also pray that he will try to set right the U.S.economy. More jobs, More homes and everlasting happiness to all our Americans.

I am a life-long Democrat, however I must confess I was concerned about this election. After hearing Obama's speech, as well as McCain's, I had more positive feelings.
One of the many prides I have in the United States is that power is turned over peacefully, and whether he was "our guy" on Election Day, or not, he is our leader.
We have many problems. The middle class carrying most of the burden. The economic colapse. Wars we shouldn't be involved in.
After eight years of George W. Bush, perhaps its time to try some new ideas.
And if this group of leaders can' get the job done, or at least started, well, there's another election in four years.
God Bless the Unted States of America!!

I just found out about the Electoral College. Now you have to hope they agree.

Yeah, the Electoral College. One of the many parts of our wonderful system of Government that I see and go ... WTF? I never did do very well in Government in school. The electoral college doesn't -have- to vote the way their states asked them to vote. But generally they do, and they probably will. It would be a major surprise to find the Electoral Voters changed the vote especially on an election like this.
Here's to surviving the next 4 years.

Obama in the White House? GOD HELP US ALL!!! :(

This country got exactly what she deserves on Tuesday! He'll lead the country alright, right down the toilet! :P

Whatever may be individual opinion, he is the 44th President, created many records. Nobody can deny that.
Let us wait and see what he does. I am sure he will make things better than the present President.
America's GDP growth has come down drastically, at present while compared to the ealier President to Mr.Bush. So also stock market index fell down. Several of my friends were out of job.
I am sure Mr.Obama will make a start.
God bless Americans

Not to add more political opinion here, but here's an observation I'll throw out: :)
Check out how different age groups voted this election, (http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/results/president/) notably the 18-29 group in various "red" and "blue" states. Despite how I might feel, these people represent America's future, and will be bearing both our burdens and legacies in the coming decades. Obviously, Americans have many opinions on how our country should be governed, but I'm very proud to see that "race" is no longer considered a deciding factor. :)
-
Well Mr. Obama makes 11 for me so I may not like it but the sun still came up this morning and I hope to see many more Presidents befor I'm done here. ;D
-
While I did not vote for him, all I can do is continue to support the country in any possible capacity. Even though my 'soldiering days' are long over, the desire to protect the nation and our allies from all enemies (Foreign and Domestic) hasn't diminished in the least.

They say if you love your freedom, thank a vet. THANK YOU Ben for serving our country in whatever capacity you did. I am not a military veteran. I am a former police officer that was proud to serve my community in any way that I could. I am proud of my past, and I hope my children are proud of their father too. We all have different political views, and my intention is never to offend anyone with what I write. It's just me and my views, my opinions that's all. I have a lot of fun here and have made lots of friends here, and I'd like to keep it that way. Thanks. :)

Thank you too Nighthawk. I can understand some of what you've faced (my Father-In-Law is a retired Police/Deputy -- Omaha, Ne) on a daily basis and can understand what you've taken home (inside of you) and what your family has faced when met with your daily horrors and frustrations. Never forget, you have saved life and maintained order when lawlessness would have prevailed.
You have done well and I SALUTE you and what you've done and stand for.

Just a tiny footnote.
OldDan, I was tired when I wrote my post. I meant "four years" and not eight.
:) :) :) :)
-
I recall that OldDan too. However, I salute the man and his elected position. Perhaps he will NOW abolish the NACP, Congressional Black Caucus, Affirmative Action, and Black History Month. We've been (force) equalized for far too long and don't need special reminders all the time since we are all equal Americans.
I'm sorry if this upsets the sensibilities of some, but it's my opinion.
-
I wasn't excited about this election. I didn't like either candidate. But close to the last minute I decided Obama was, in my opinion, the better of our two choices. I understand that alot of people don't agree, and thats fine. Lets just not completely condemn the guy untill he has a chance to try to make some positive changes. All we can do is pray that he does.
-
Well said Adam! :)
-
Hi Bonedigger and Nighthawk.
I salute a vet and an ex Cop. I'm a vet myself.
When I started to read your replies I was getting a bit off-side, but the more I read the more I agreed with you.
When I said "the leadership that your country deserves' I only meant goodwill for all Americans.
Please don't take my comments out of context.
regards,

Not a problem Muckeye! G'day to ya! :)
-
Now, he will have to deal with the reality that the goals aren't entirely compatible -- technically or politically.
While I won't disagree with you there, I will point out that the status quo wasn't working either. What is needed are some real brainiacs who aren't afraid to think "outside the box" for some real solutions.
-
Nothing changes much ;D
-
That is kinda funny Yass :D
-
I don't want to offend anybody, however I haven't heard any of the pundits really explain the election outcome as I see it.
It is simply this -- How could the outcome have possibly been any different what with the last eight years of GWB?
:) :) :) :)
-
CC 42, I'm not an Obama fan at all, but I agree with you 100%. What would you expect most folks to do after 8 years of "W"? Vote Republican AGAIN? :)
-
People vote their wallets, thus the election results.
-
Yep. I know alot of people that voted McCain. But really, after 8 years of W. who I can't beleive ever got elected in the first place (Because he's dumb as a box of rocks) who would want more of the same??
;D
No offense to any Bush supporters.
-
I wish him well but his supporters, much like the "astute investors" that caused this mess, have grossly over valued him.

Bush failed in every business venture he ever involved himself, and if that wasn't enough he then failed as a president. He is even worse than Tricky Dick.
I believe Obama is inexperienced, but at least there is some signs of intelligent life in him. I cannot say that for that box of W. Texas rocks.
