The theme of our Aussie 2009 mint and proof sets have just been released - the theme - International Year of Astronomy. The mint set will have a commemorative 20 cent, and the 2 coin set will have a commemorative dollar. Neither of these coins will be issued for circulation.

The mint is right onto it with the money making thing. The only way to get all the circulating coins in that grade is to buy both sets. Wonder how many they will sell with the current economic climate. Both sets equals $45 for 8 coins. Two of which are NCLT.

I've seen the film on the Parkes Observatory...very interesting how they were involved in the first moon landing.

Will be interesting to see what the final mintage of the Baby Proof set will be too with a jump from $95 to $120.

But hey, you get a coloured medallion for that price....
-
Oh yeah - even has a coloured Aussie flag!

o.0 For $120 I'd rather pick up a nice example or two of some Aussie pre-dec silver coins, instead.

I'm with you on that one, Miss Kitty! ;)

Yeah - think I'm heading more in that direction as well!
