Turkish Lira had a fix back on 2005, when the New Turkish Lira was introduced, replacing 1.000.000 (one million)Turkish Lira.
After four years, the Turkish Lira is back, with completely new looks.

Neat. I like the 50 kurush - it's one for the bridge, map and bimetallic collectors. 8)

The new money was presented yesterday, they will be released by the new year.
For those of you interested, some more info can be found HERE (http://deli-isi.blogspot.com/2008/10/new-turkish-lira-goes-brand-new-turkish.html).
We'll just wait to see the public reaction, but not everyone is pleased so far.

Very nice Renal.
I would be interested in getting a one of each of the bi-metallic coins for my collection when they are released.

Sure, I'll keep quite a bunch of the fresh ones :)

With all this Mustafa Kemal Atuturk stuff on their coins and banknotes, he is kind of like Turkey's Vladimir Ilych Lenin. One must not be able to get away from him.
