I forgot to ask if this election would be by "FLORIDA RULES" or international rules? Those hanging "chads" can really cause a great deal of turmoil!!! ;D And not to mention we would like to know the results before next January!
-
We have a "hung" parliament here in W.A. at the moment. (should hang them alll).
After the elections last weekend, neither major party had a clear majority.
Now the National Party who normally form a coalition party with the Liberals,
have to decide whether to join with the Liberals again this time (which they stated
earlier in the year, that they would not do) or form an alliance with the Labor party,
in which case Labor would be returned to power.
Nationals are in a great position, with both partys promising the World to them, to
get them to jump on their bandwagon. It's over a week since the vote and we are still
waiting.

The election ends Monday at noon, as stated in the first post.
However, there is a slight problem.
Being an ex history teacher, I like to take in "historical" events when possible. Turns out that Barack Obama will be in Grand Junction, Colorado (40 miles away) giving a speech on Monday. It starts at 11 a.m. I have tickets.
So, will announce the election winner as soon as I get home on Monday afternoon.
:) :) :) :)

Sounds like an EARLY SNOW JOB in Colorado to me. Have any of you noticed Obama had the American flag removed from his plane and replaced it with a circle of red, white and blue? Can't help but wonder what that is about? Perhaps, deep within the recesses of his mind, there lurks a plan he is NOT discussing at this time?
-
I can't help but feel that both candidates are lying to me :'(
Are there any third party candidates this year? ;D
-
If I were seriously campainging I believe my slogan would be "There will be pot in every chicken." or something like that?
Gary, I am going to need a price to send on these two awards so I suggest the moderators and administrators come up with an appropriate amount to spend. Also will need specific wording that we will have engraved each year. Have a lot of options with a laser engraver only 4 miles away. We can make a suggestion and then have a few days worth of voting so that ALL our members know the who's, what's, when's and why's!
-
Just returned from the Obama speech in Grand Junction.
Good speech. But then, his telepromter didn't go out.
Shook hands with him.
Historical day for me in that the last time a Democrat President was in Grand Junction was Harry Truman, in 1948. I was five, and watched him give his speech in the railroad yard in Grand Junction. Should Obama be elected, there probably aren't too many folks who could say they saw HT in Grand Junction, and then saw Obama 60 years later!!
Want to know who won our election? New thread about to be posted!!
:D :D :D :D
-
Stop showing off Gary, I'm two years older than you.
regards ;)
-
Was the world really black and white back then, just like in the movies and pictures? ;D ;D
[Topher puts on his flame-retardant suit.]
Yes and no one spoke either...they just used captions down by their feet.
-
Yes it was and finding parking for a dinosaur was just as tough back then as it is for your car now!!! ;D
-
I can remember waving to Queen Elizibeth II in 1954 but I don't think she recognised me!!
regards, :(
-
I waved to President Truman in 1948!!
