The basic design of this note dates to 1918 with the cheques circulars issue from that year, then was used on the 1 Libra note of 1922. Peru then re-valued it's currency again in 1935 and 1 Libra became 10 Soles. Curiously when this note was issued in 1946 it was in a larger format than the previous issues from 1933-1939.

The image of the girl with her basket of flowers is much older than the Peruvian note issues, and is a stock image that was also used on certificates and fiscal papers in the USA that were printed by American Banknote as early as the 1880's. Because this image was a stock image of American Banknote Company in New York, the vignette is likely of an American girl, curiously her image was used on documents in the USA, and then on Peruvian banknotes issued as late as 1947.

How many more do you have.   Between you and Old Dan you must have cornered the female market!

They truly must have.  Every time I browse the selection of notes at the shoppe, there aren't many with females on them that are in good enough shape for me to bother. ^^:

The women just happen to be conveniently placed on the notes.  :D  (Not that I'm complaining!)
