Hi all. I am only beginer collector and I please all members about some advices. I have my coin collection in plastic wrappers and I see on some coins start corosion. Those wrappers are cheap but I think that this thay are bad for store coins. What is the best way for store coins against corrosion ? Thanks for your opinions. ???

Yes, Erik, that wrapper might be making your coins turn green. If the plastic has sulfur in it, that can be very bad for your coins.
I think most collectors use what we call 2x2 mylar holders for their coins. They are usually inexpensive, about 200 for $5 US dollars. When you look for them, be sure to choose a type that is "Archival" quality. This will mean that there is no sulfur to hurt the coins.

I couldn't find a bigger picture, but this gives a very good range of the holders. They can be sold individually, or 100 come in a red cardboard box for storage.

OK, I already saw those holders. I will try to buy some in our shops. I have also small older albums LINDNER for 48 coins. ( 8 pages x 8 coins)
What do you thing about this album ? Is it safely or coins will be green ? :) :)

I am not familiar with the Lindner brand albums.
I know that if it were my coin collection, I would want to put the coins into the holders before putting them into the pockets. This keeps them from being exposed to the air, which can corrode them also.

If your buying flips you may not see the word Mylar because Mylar is not really a material, it's the product name originally given to things made from Polyethylene Terephthalate. Obviously Mylar is easier to say but if you don't see the the word, look for Polyethylene Terephthalate. You'll also want flips that are dust and oil free. The flip that can harm coins are flips that have plasticizer in them to make them soft---also called PVC or "vinyl" flips. Under certain conditions the plasticizer can leech and harm coins.
Usually Polyethylene Terephthalate--"Mylar" flips are hard flips due to the lack of plasticizer. I believe there are also PVC/vinyl soft flips that have a "Mylar" lining to them, but I never tried them.
*Usually* flips that are soft and inexpensive have plastizer in them. If they smell like a new shower curtain and/or cost about $4 for 100 of them, that's a sign that they are PVC/vinyl flips. They are not only inexpensive but real easy to work with because they are soft and flexible--another warning sign.
Usually flips that are hard and cost about $16 or $17 per 100 are "Mylars" or Polyethylene Terephthalate and they should say Polyethylene Terephthalate somewhere on the package.
SAFLIP is a brand of flips that are "Mylar" or Polyethylene Terephthalate.

Thanks longnine009. I am surprised from your much knowledge about keep coins. Here is many things I will learn yet. First I think when somebody is making wrappres for coins then it is for coins safely. I try to buy those hollders. If somebody know about link of some sellers with cheaper and safely holders, please write me. Many thanks :) :) :)

I buy SAFLIPS from CoinWorld but just about any coin supplier carries them.
