Title: 80 Year Old Retires today...
Post by: scottishmoney on July 18, 2008, 05:53:13 AM
Got Abe in change at lunch today, he has been dutifully serving for 80 years, apparently without a break as he is rather looking worse for the wear after such a long career. But he has retired to my Lincoln Retirement Home, he is the oldest I have gotten in a few months, though my son got a 99 year old Abe in change last month in town.

I had about the same thing happen to me last week. Somehow I ended my day with two Abe Lincolns in my pocket. One was a 1926 and the other was a 1944-S. My guess is someone in this area has stumbled onto hard times so they are cleaning out the piggy bank. The two coins are lying right here waiting to be retired. They are in pretty darn good shape but they still deserve a rest! ;D
