If these are real, and my Krause is right, I think I got a nice bargain today. I had my monthly trip to the Coin Store, and they had a nice little baggie of new World Coins I got to paw through at bargain bin prices. :D Yes. All these coins except the Philippino one came from the Bargain Bin.
These are 3 coins of Portuguese Colony of Guiné in Africa.

A lovely 1 Franc coin from Belgium, 1909

And! From the Philippines, a 1 Peso coin from the Culion Leper Colony, 1925.

There are lots more where these came from, but I wanted to share these first. :)

I would never have thought I would see for the first time in my life a Belgian coin on an international forum
( meaning I never saw a 1909 frank before)
Observe that in 1909 this coin only spoke French
Our goverment has been in gridlock for a year now over a large village Halle Vilvoorde and the flemish state government declared it will not be sending 4 billion euro to the central government if this is not cleared to flemish satisfaction ;D
An article in the Dutch press said a Dutch minister wants us to join holland as a province ; shudder shudder
whereas the walloon would like to go to France but France has allready provincies enough without money ::)

Congrats ElleKitty! :o
The Guiné coins were a very nice catch, the 10 cent. and the gem 5 cent. are great, the 20 cent. its still a "bin" coin.
The Guiné 5, 10 and 50 centavos are something one could look for, dealers will often mistake those Guiné coins for the Portugal and Cabo Verde issues. ;)

Very nice coins, Ellekitty,
Thanks for sharing.

You have some very interesting coins there Miss Kitty.
You sure can pick them.

What I find most interesting about the Guiné coins are those wide rims. I see a few Portugal coins have that too.
A lovely 1 Franc coin from Belgium, 1909
I like the reverse...not so much the portrait of Leopold II--forgotten history I guess.

Kitty:
First time, I see the Leper Colony coin. Very interesting one. Hope to see more and more from Kitty's collection/additions.

Further to my post on seeing that french language belgian frank
What had to happen has happened . We got rid of government at least temporaraly
Sooner or later the 52 % Flemish who got most of the industry are going to get what they want
Trying to run a country with a coalition of five parties to block off the flemish party does not seem to work
when most of the money has to come from Flanders

I just love those Leper-clony coins - the idea they've been through the hands of someone with that disease.... ;D
