Muckeye raised an interesting question in his thread, which can be found in this section.
Who are the young collectors among us?
With members' willingness and cooperation, we can find out.
If you are a youngster, just post your age in this thread and I'll construct a list.
The list as of 06-04-2008
Age Name
20 Arthrene
24 AdamL

Blessed neither with youth or seniority. But right in the middle. ;D
-
My body got older but my brain is stuck on 23! ;D I used to play ball with the kids and hurt for two weeks. Now I hurt for two weeks after just watching them play! :'(
-
I don't mind you starting with me at all. I'm proud to be a youngster among so many wise elder knights and knightesses :)
-
I can really relate to what Twoshadows says.
I coached baseball for better than 20 years, from eight-year-olds to Babe Ruth 16-18's, to high school. And now I can't even get out there and work with my grandkids. Arthritis, and a hip I think is giving out.
I can explain baseball and softball to them, but can't actually coach.
My granddaughter just yesterday asked me to show her how to slide! That demonstration would probably put me in the hospital.
:D :D :D :D
-
Bugger....23...that let me out.......I am 20 going on 61
:D
-
Really not all that hard to demonstrate if you think about it. Take her for a stroll around the corral and step into a pile of fresh cow droppings. Watch what happens 9 times out of 10. A perfect hook slide every time. Just thought this may help. ;)
One of my earliest and funniest memories is when I was about 5 years old or so, my then 2 year old brother was out in the barn, and went to pet a cow! And fell face first into a cowflop, I still remember laughing my head off and getting in trouble because I thought it was hysterical. ;D

Thanks for the advice OldDan.
;D ;D ;D ;D

Are we young ones so few? I figured this topic would see a bit more action. I've still got everyone beat so far. I'm only 20.

20 Years Old.
Anyone younger?
:D :D :D :D

I don't consider myself middle aged yet, but I've been playing the trombone longer than you've been alive. Thanks! (Same goes for Adam!) :(
-
Sadly, I have to admit that I'm no youngster any more. Young at heart, Absolutely!
I have this philosophy where I claim I'm not yet middle aged because I plan to live to 140, and as I add each year to my age, I just move the goal post along a bit. So at 30 (pushing 65 OUCH!) , I'm still NOT middle aged. That's my theory & I'm sticking to it. :) ;) :D ;D 8) ::) :P :-*

Weighing in at a paltry 35 years, I am but a kitten, still!
-
Thanks to all who contributed to this thread however the reason for the original question has now been revealed.
May the junior members who receive something from the Crock of Coins enjoy their gifts and carry on in the pursuit of Numismatics.
Again, thank you.

I think my collecting habits would suggest I am still a kid. ;D
-
Haven't looked for quite some time, but I believe I have ties that are older than this. So young and yet so well versed on coinage, what a combination!
:D
-
Thanks to Muckeye for this great contribution to numismatics.
I am sure many will benefit from your kindness
-
Scottish, the 'beauty' and "taste" displayed in your Avatar dispel any doubt that you are still a "kid". ;) ;) ;)
regards,
-
If I tried to convince you that I am only twenty-one would you believe me?
Of course that would mean that I had my son Vaughan when I was eleven!
Is anyone falling for the "I'm only twenty-one" routine???
-
Hey Gene,
At our age, a year or two is often an advantage, don't you reckon ;)
Well, that's what the girls tell me.
regards,
-
Anyone gonna beat 17? :D
-
Who wants to :D :D :D
regards,
-
I bet you all want to be 17 just like me.. Heh heh heh.. :D
-
I think you win justa
-
If I could be 17, and know what I know now, wow, would I be on top of the world!!
;D ;D ;D ;D

Amen to that! And I'm not much older than that, hehehe.
-
Haha you all are an old bunch. :o Anyway, I guess I win. ;D ;D
-
It's always so great to hear from the young and young-at-heart collectors. I'm about ready to earn my Senior discount...it is mid-50's now isn't it? Oh my! Congrats to the young Numismatists among us!
-
Debbie,
It's wonderful to hear from you again.
Hope all is well.
:D :D :D :D
-
Welcome home Debbie! It certainly is good to hear from you again. :) ;) :D ;D
-
Welcome back Debbie, thought you had fallen into a big hole in the ground
-
Keep a chair warm for me Gene.
regards ;)
-
I don't think I won anything except bragging rights.. ;D
-
Hi again all!
No I didn't fall into a big hole...I'm still here and watching. My collection is not growing as rapidly as it has in the past but, I'm still collecting.
You should have known that I'd chime in where our yn's are concerned ;) Ah, my reputation precedes me.
All is fine with me...just not as much puter time with lawn, garden and a real life again!
Thanks for missing me! I've missed you all too!
-
I'm sending in my Farrah Fawcett coffee mug as a proxy count. It's only 31.
Debbie, it's good to hear from you again!
