Post by: NoHope587 on May 24, 2008, 08:43:58 AM
It was just way to hot to spend much time outside today. will have to restrict my activities to the early morning and late evening from now on. Heat index was 100F (38C)just way to hot for this Brit.

Just under $5 in change and some trinkets from 2 Elementary schools

You did very well Nohope. I'm also a detectorer enthusiast (a detectorist is a female). I hope you find 'The Big One'. Goose

Yeah, those kids really hold onto their money don't they? ::) Probably could go back every few weeks when school is in session and do it all again. I keep telling myself to go out and buy a new detector but have managed to avoid the urge thus far! I know a lot of really old school sites and homesteads that are long gone. The pull is strong but NOT quite strong enough.

I keep getting the urge to upgrade but then my ACE is finding plenty of stuff and has paid for itself already. It does everything I could ask.
It takes about 5 months for the schools to reseed. As my Place in Texas is only 8 miles from Houston there are plenty of Schools and parks to play in while I wait for each one to reseed.

I have been think of getting a detector this year. I am interested in seeing what there is to find around some of the old forts around here. Just need to save some more "pennies".

My two older kids have cheapie $15 detectors that they use to clean out the parks of abandoned change.  We usually go early on Sunday morning to pay worship to the Gods of abandoned monetary instruments, whilst the rest of humanity are putting on their airs in church/synagogue/mosque/denofiniquity.
