This note was issued by National Bank Limited, the design dates from 1937 and is a refreshing and lovely design. Unfortunately, the turmoil in Northern Ireland created opportunity for this note to be commonly defaced because of the of the watermark of Daniel O'Connell, an Irish patriot.  Most often where the watermark is has an ink X or a cash figure written over it, this is only the second note of this whole National Bank Ltd. series that I have seen that was NOT defaced.  It is actually quite a tantalisingly rare note, National Bank was shortly thereafter merged into Bank of Ireland and it's banknotes quickly withdrawn, £10 being quite a sum in the day, more often they were turned into the bank for redemption and eventual destruction.

I really like the vignette of the young Colleen, with her harp and Irish wolfhound and a ship in the background.

I don't see any ant.....it must be on your screen. Being spring, you must have ants in your house.

Not on my screen nor in my screen.  In all Scottish's posts since about 24-36 hrs ago, there's a little "ant' crawling around doing figure 8's.
