Title: New acquisitions from the Lockport coinshow.
Post by: Dumanyu on April 13, 2008, 01:51:35 PM
Not a bad haul today, although it is getting more expensive to get the coins for the OFEC list.

Picked up a...

1941 British Guiana 4 Pence in XF
1915 Kingdom of Siam 1/4 Baht in VF
1815 Parma (Italian States) 10 Soldi in VF

2 more Swiss Cantons...

1829 Aargau 5 Rappen in XF
1842 Graubunden 1/2 Batzen in XF

2 more German States...

1625 Augsburg 2 Kreutzer in VF
1798 Hesse-Darmstadt 1 Pfennig (actually a duplicate if anyone needs one).

a 1982 Lincoln cent set with all the varieties (i.e. Large Date, Small Date, Copper, Copper-Zinc, yada yada yada)
a 1955 Lincoln Cent: Poor man's double die with a die crack at the back of Lincoln's head.
a 1986 Norway 10 Ore with a Lamination defect.

A 1943 S Australian Florin in VF.

And lastly a 2008 ASE Proof, and a 2000 U.S. Silver proof mint set for way under book.

This brings the current tally to...

Swiss Cantons: 12 of 21
Italian States: 4 of 18
German States: 28 of 92
and a grand total of 337 of 920 for the OFEC collection.

Tobyle,
When you get a chance send me your needs list so I can help. I'll be out of touch after today,  as my laptop took a dump and I'll be in Florida until Sunday, but if I can help I will.

I wonder if 'taking a dump' means the same thing in the US as it does in Oz?  I have this horrible but very amusing picture in my mind of a laptop fepositing a steaming pile of manure onto Dumanyu's desk  ;D :o

Well I pulled an old laptop off the shelf, swapped the harddrive and I'm back in action. I'll be gutting the desktop unit in a few months, and by then I'll have a new laptop as well.
Going to Florida in the morning, but if the resort has a wired internet access (as opposed to WiFi), I'll poke my head in the castle periodically.

Fraid not, Scott. Further north, in the Empire State (NY), just north of Buffalo.

Unless you know where the Dept of Environemnt is in Canberra (where I will be spending 24 hours on the reception desk), we will have to catch up some other time.

Of course you could go to the Art Gallery where they have a "Turner to Monet - The Triumph of Landscape" exhibition or to Old Parliament House both of which are on either side of me, or the High Court or the National Library, or Parliament House, or the War Memorial.  And then call in for coffee, regardless of the fact that there is no milk, sugar or coffee.  ;D

The things people do to earn money to buy coins.... and then pay the mortgages.  ::)
