Pert Mint has just come up with 2 pure silver and 2 gold unc $1 rectangular coins based on Australian indigenous art.

Although i love the Great White Shark more than a Kangroo, but this is Very nice

This is NOT fair! The Aussie government mints keep coming up with Roos that are killing my wallet!!! Please make them stop!!!

RAM will start on the Landcare $1 series in May (follow on from the Coloured Ocean series). No Roos in the first 2 releases, but going from the 1st 2 that will be released, I'd imagine there will be another Roo there somewhere in the series.

They are running 3 months later then Monnaie de Paris who has been churning out rectangular silver and gold this year at too high prices  ???

The Perth Mint offers there rectangular coins in silver and gold.   There are also 2 themes - Kangaroo and Turtle

The cost (all are plus postage):

SILVER    1oz      AUD 59.95

GOLD    2.5 gms    AUD175.00
           5 gms      AUD350.00
         10 gms      AUD650.00

in 2007 Monnaie de Paris had 81 new items
one was a silver Degas at a nonstandard 0.46 ounces and like 75 dollars an ounce price
amazingly this in my opinion overpriced and ugle square coin is sold out
They say this is the first square coin they made
