A New Exchange for a New Year
December 27, 2013, 02:17:15 AM
Greetings, to all my fellow Knights!

As I was browsing through this forum, I read Templar's Penny Club thread and had an idea.

2014 is starting soon, and the new coins will be flowing forth from the mints.

The rules of the game are simple:  When you find a 2014 coin in your pocket change (hopefully it's new and shiny!)  Set it aside and send it to the fellow Knight you are assigned.

I don't expect to play fair-  I want to match Knights up in different countries.  No sense getting a bright shiny 2014 penny mailed to you when you can get a roll of them from your bank.

Let me know if anyone thinks this idea is worthwhile.  :)

Do add this coin to my collection?

I like the idea, but I would prefer to send my partner a complete set of all coins. Unfortunately some don't get released until near the end of the year. Postage would be prohibitive to send one coin at a time.  :)

Sounds like a great idea....I am in.

I already have the Australian 2014 Uncirculated coin set but will take some months for the 2014 coins to be circulating.

Our mint has previous year coins in stock and will release these before they release 2014 coins.

THAT IS A GOOD POINT ABOUT HOW COINS ARE MINTED---THE WHOLE SET COMES LATER ON IN  THE YEAR BUT IT IS STILL A GOOD IDEA TO SEND THE WHOLE SET LATER WHEN YOU GET IT--WHATEVER THE MAJORITY WANTS IS OK BY ME

I like the idea of sending a single coin.

Is this everyone who is interested?

There isn't a real rush, newly minted coins are worth waiting for.  I'd like to send something besides a penny.

Anyone else who is interested?

Do add this coin to my collection?
