Title: My "sur-prize" contest
Post by: KurtS on October 08, 2008, 03:05:12 PM
It seems I lucked out again on Latman's contest, so I'll pass my second win on to another collector--that's the "sur-prize"   Not to exclude anybody, but if you've already won on Latman's contest, you can take a break, OK?  ;D

Here's the question: in 1937, due to work overloads in tooling the new George VI obverses, another mint was contracted to make the master die tools for the Canada 10c "Bluenose"  reverse. Name the mint--each person gets 2 guesses (http://tiny.cc/Xdbhc) (in the same post). Good luck!  :)

Ever since college days (45 years ago), I have spent parts of my "free" times looking through the standard books on U.S., British, Canadian, and Australian coins.  Some of the things I learned has stuck with me.

I am thrilled to have won a prize and look forward to receiving it.

In the spirit of contests, I will continue the tradition with my own contest.  I will try and get it posted tomorrow (Thursday).

Thanks for the contest.

 :) :) :) :)

How do you want to do this Kurt? Are you going to pick the prizes and the send one to CoinCrusader, or are you going to give your second pick to him and I will send it to him? Either way is fine by me.

How do you want to do this Kurt?
At first, I thought it might be quick to send it to Gary direct, once the prizes are made known.
However, grouping both prizes in one package to me will probably 1/2 your shipping expense. I'll then forward the prize to Gary.  :)
Congrats again!

Roger Moore was my favorite Simon Templar!
But George Sanders is likely the most in the movies who played Templar.

George Sanders would be the correct answer for movies

Here the series was called The Saint and it was stricktly Roger Moore in the TV series

The movie "Ivanho" brought back a memory or two.

When it was playing in my hometown of Grand Junction (Colorado), I so much wanted to see it.  But, I had to go to Delta (my present home) because my Dad had to referee a basketball tournament.

I was very young, but it broke my heart not to see the movie.

To this day I don't think I've seen it!!
