Nathan Bedford Forrest was one bad ass dude. He had
30 horses shot out from under him and killed all 30 men
in hand to hand combat. He actually had 31 shot out
from under him but one he shot himself by accident.
Sorrrrry.

He was shot point blank in the chest by one his junior officers.
All it did was piss him off. He held  the guy place with one arm,
opened a pocket knife with his free hand and his teeth and
cut the man's throat.

Don't mess with Nathan. :D

Here's some amusing history about Joe Hooker
and Lincoln: Before thr Battle of Chancellorsville
"fighting Joe" sent Lincoln a telegram explaining
how he would kick Lee's butt because Joe had twice the forces as Lee. Lincoln's reply: "The
hen is the wisest of the barn yard animals for
she never cackles until after the egg is laid."

Lee not only won with half the forces he divided
the half in half and attacked from two directions.
