Who is a fossicker here
July 24, 2009, 11:50:39 AM
This is another one of my hobbys that is detecting for gold, panning and sluicing in rivers for gold and semi precious gems, opal noodling and sapphire sieving in the gem fields,Agate hunting is another.
This is another hobby I love so is there anyone here that's into it the same as I am.

I have never tried it, but I wouldn't mind giving it a go.

Steve you live in the land of the nugget, all the river that run to the sea from your east or run into the salt flats all bare gold It's the land of dreams for a fossicker, mate you've got it made  ;D.
Big step Templar as my detector set me back the price of a 1892 P Morgan dollar in PF 65 not including added attachments like coils 24'round DD,17' elipt DD and mono,11' round mono and an 8' elipt DD,2 X 12v batteries and leads and a sound booster hell I can't even detect the football ground next door without finding a car body 10 foot down yes a bit of over kill but this is what you need to find those little buggers (nuggets)hiding in the ground.
Mate take you lovely lady out camping and slowly introduce her to fossicking before she knows it she'll be hooked  ;D

My question, at this time, is who buys those nuggets? I see them all the time on Ebay and can't help but wonder why they are for sale there? Is there an outlet for those nuggets or gold flakes that you pan?

Sorry I've been absent but I'm back for now,we have buyers that do the rounds in the goldfields also advertise in the Gold,Gem and Treasure mag here in Auss or sell privately through contacts, there are a few options as you can see though I wouldn't trust eBay as you may get a gold coated lump of lead LOL.
