From the article:

Continue using the old $5 design: You won’t have to exchange your old $5 bills for the new ones. Your old money will always be good. In fact, every U.S. banknote issued since 1861 is still redeemable today at full face value and will continue to be legal currency. In addition, there will be no recall or devaluation of any U.S. bills as the United States has never devalued its currency and will not do so now.

Uh, sorry, but it is not redeemable for real money, ie gold or silver, and is only worth what the government say it is, but even that isn't much anymore.  As evidence the dollar has lost 40% of it's value in the last 2 years.  Pretty soon at the rate it is going, and no, you have not seen what is going to happen in the next months, it will go the way of the Mexican Peso.  You can colour these things up and make them purty with poiple etc, but it doesn't give it anymore value.

FTR gold certificates lost all value and were not even legal to own from 1934-1964.  But lets keep that narsty little secret hidden.
