Title: Florin question.
Post by: Goose on August 29, 2013, 09:17:41 AM
I have an Aussie 1942 (no s) Florin that I believe is in AU condition. With slightly over 18 million minted, why are prices somewhat high for this considering the high mintage?

I only have a 2009 McDonald's price book, and that list the UNC coin a $100, which is one of the lower end prices for a Florin.

The 2013 Macdonalds shows value of UNC 1942 as A$120.

Nothing special about that as most Florins are around that value.

To toss in my 2, the 1940s series coins are the most common found in the US.  The prices are probably that high because our servicemen brought them all back home to the US with them!
