A Reality Check!!
April 01, 2008, 05:21:52 AM
Now here's  a reality check!

This  is too  true to be very funny.

The next  time you hear a politician use the
Word 'billion' in a casual  manner, think about
Whether you want the 'politicians'  spending
YOUR tax money.

A billion  is a difficult number to comprehend,
But one advertising agency  did a good job of
Putting that figure into some perspective  in
One of its releases.

A. A billion  seconds ago it was 1959.

B. A billion  minutes ago Jesus was alive.

C. A billion  hours ago our ancestors were
   Living in the  Stone Age.

D. A billion days ago  no-one walked on the earth on two  feet.

E.  A  billion dollars ago was only 8 hours  and
20  minutes, at the rate our government is spending  it.

While  this thought is still fresh in our brain, let's take a look at New  Orleans.  It's amazing what you can learn with some simple  division.

Louisiana  Senator, Mary Landrieu , is presently asking the Congress for $250 BILLION to rebuild New Orleans.  Interesting  number, what does it mean?

A.  Well, if you are one of 484,674 residents of New Orleans  (every man, woman, child), you  each  get $516,528.

B.  Or,  if you have one of the 188,251 homes in  New  Orleans , your home gets $1,329,787.

C.  Or, if you are a family of four, your  family  gets  $2,066,012.

Washington , D.C , Ottawa,  Canada..... HELLO!!! .. Are all your calculators  broken??

Tax his land,
Tax his wage,
Tax his  bed in which he lays.

Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach  him taxes is the rule.

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his  pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his ties,
Tax his shirts,
Tax  his work,
Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax  him if he tries to think.

Tax his booze,
Tax his  beers,

If he cries,

Tax his tears.

Tax his bills,
Tax his gas,
Tax his  notes,
Tax his cash.

Tax him good and let him know
That  after taxes, he has no dough.

If he hollers, Tax him more,
Tax him  until he's good and sore.

Tax his coffin, Tax his grave,
Tax the  sod in which he lays.

Put these words upon his  tomb,
'Taxes drove me to my  doom!'
And when he's gone, We won't  relax,
We'll still be after the inheritance  TAX!!

STILL THINK THIS IS  FUNNY?
No  taxes existed 100 years ago,
We had absolutely no  national debt, had the largest middle class in the world,
And  Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

What happened?   Can you spell 'politicians!'

And I  still have to 'press
1'  for  English.

What the hell  happened?????

All this started in 1913 with the formation of the Federal Reserve Bank (A private bank NOT A GOVERNMENT BANK !!!!!).....

And it was their alpha monkey who in 1999 told a country, breathlessly waiting to hear his pearls  of wisdom on the 6:00 clock news,  that ARMs were a good deal. Now that everyone is "shocked, shocked, to find gambling going on.." they task the new alpha monkey with the job of fixing the former alpha monkey's mess.

And covering up the absolute criminality of *everything* that has happened in the financial sector in the last 10 years  by dumping the mess on backs of taxpayers and especially, right now, the backs of consumers through inflation caused by more credit expansion.

God help this country if the zombies are ever shocked back into a state of sentient beings.  Which may well happen too from bouncing off the asphalt after foreclosure.  The "R" word then won't be about recession.

Things sure have changed since the days of  "Immunis Columbia." Instead of America being immune to the worlds problems-- as was proclaimed on a Colonial copper-- we are the worlds' problem. We're an eight trillion dollar elephant ready to keel over in the worlds' back yard.

Can we get that on a coin in Latin? How do you say "beware of falling Columbia Elephant"  in Latin? Ah, doesn't matter, we can  just use  Spanish.

But don't worry, the same people who straightened out New Orleans after Katrina, are going to do an even better job with sub prime.  ;D

Coming from someone who lives in the highest taxed county in the country, I myself am well sick of it all. What this country needs is a bloodless revolution. We need to get back to the old idea of don't spend more then you have, and save more then you do. This country is slowly collapsing in on itself, and nobody seems to be taking note of it.

The USA was taken over by greed and graft.  Both have been present since the beginning, but since the 1970's they have been at the forefront of political life.  The founding fathers would have found that they wasted their energies writing a constitution that has become grossly misinterpreted 200+ years later.

As a member/resident of the  'western hemisphere' I am ashamed and full of despair.
Where do we start to try and atone for the sins of our forefathers?
God help our children.

Aye to Muckeye: "God Help our Children" what is going on?  :-\  Saw a program the other night about discipline then, 1960s and now).

No#1:

1960s: two kids have a fight in the schoolyard.  They are separated counselled, shake hands and are Friends again.

Now:  teacher cannot intervene, to do so will be assault (is allowed to plead nicely, as harsh language may inflame the situation) phone videos taken and flashed to the net.  The teacher rings the Police and the children are removed in handcuffs.

No #2:

1960: Kid stumbles up the stairs and falls over. Teacher helps child up, asks if all is OK.  I'm fine thank you Sir/Mam.  A pat on the back and the Child scoots away.  The end.

Now:  All as before. Only another Adult spies this and dobs the other Teacher as a Child Molester.  Result:  Teacher is jailed, Child receives counselling, ADD drugs, withdraws and drops out: to where?

Right on Muckeye, glad I grew up in the 60s!!!!!!

IMO, there is nothing that has done more damage to kids, *and teachers* in the  U.S than the Public School System. Even today *The System* tries to instill control, dependence and regimentation on kids going into a decentralizing economy where such rubbish will only ensure their starvation. Assuming they don't die first in World War lll.

If Albert Eisenstein had gone to a U.S public school today he would have been diagnosed as suffering from attention  deficit  disorder and immediately  issued  zombie pills.
