Trades with Triggersmob
October 13, 2007, 12:23:07 PM
I predict that this section will become quite popular in months to come, in that one purpose of KOTCT is to establish a safe place to trade with others all over the world.

On another forum, Triggersmob and I had a very popular thread going in which we reported what was being traded and then took bets on how long the package would take to arrive.  Muckete was another member who also joined in with the fun.

Many trades took only a few days to complete.  The trade with Tiggersmob which took the longest was a package I mailed to Australia which took three months plus to arrive.

Triggersmob and I have sort of a perpetual trade arrangement going on.  Currenly I have some Kennedy Half Dollars on the way to Australia, and we hope they arrive in just a few days from now.

My other trade is with CCF member halfabustisbetter, and hopefully it will be concluded when he receives coins from me early next week.

So, Triggersmob, I'll be waiting to hear that your coins arrived.  In addition, I might add that I located 2007 P and D Kennedy Half Dollars for you, and will mail them after returning home from Denver.

 :) :) :) :)

Gary when mailing to Australia it is important to use SEA turtles to carry those packages! Those Rocky Mountain stream turtles just are equipped for the trip. Takes them months to get a package down there not to mention they have to keep stopping to ask for directions!!!

What a coincidence!  I've got a package that I'm going to send out to triggersmob tomorrow, or the day after.  I've even got the sea turtle all lined up to carry it. I just hope she's up to the weight!

Do add this coin to my collection?

When we were in the Cayman Islands I saw dozens of sea turtles which would have been just right for the job of swimming to Australia with a load on their back.  Unfortunately, they were priced too high, so currently am using Red Ear Sliders for sending packages to Oz, and its worked out pretty well.

Thank you Gary and Ellekitty. You should use Albatross, much faster that those turtles. LOL

Ellekitty, I hope to get your package out next week. Thanks for trading.

I am awaiting a package from Australia that was sent about 7 or 8 weeks ago, at 5 weeks she sent a replacement package, and also sent a package of an item that I won in a contest,I haven't seen any of them as of yet. I will keep watching the mail and hoping maybe someday they will arrive.
This is the first time I have had any delay in getting packages from or to Australia, guess it had to happen sooner or later.

Okay.  I've sent my packet out to triggersmob, this very afternoon. :D  I've put a thread up in the Contest forum, for the closest guess to win a Darkside coin.

Go enter your guesses!

What kind of condition (grade) are you looking for in the Standing Liberty Quarters and Barber Halves George? These particular series in higher grades are much sought after and very costly. The lower grades are much more affordable and quite a few dates available on the market. My dealer gets them in spurts, so to speak, and the Barber coins don't sell as well in this area as they do in other areas of the U.S. so I might be able to help you out from time to time.

Dear Triggers:
Thanks for your kind message.  Glad to hear from you.
I have a doubt.  Is it not allowed to contact you individually.   Should you contact me thro' this Forum.
I read your kind message by accident, only.
Any way, I am quite surprised by your kind response.
Yes!  I have done some home work on Standing Liberty Qts. and Barber Halves.  Certain Key Dates are very costly.
I have some Barber Halves.   I am only a collector.   So I do not worry much about condition  VG grading is enough to me.   (ABOVE ALL I CAN'T AFFORD TO HIGHER GRADING, PLEASE)
Our good family friend told me that he can buy a Roll of Barber Halves in VG for $6 or so.
I am ready to work on Red Indian Cents also.   I knew their value.   I want to upgrade my Buffalo Nickels.   So you can help me in a very big way.
But before that, kindly inform what you collect and what you need from me.
Thanks again for contacting me.
Kindest regards
George

Dear Twoshadows:
Thanks for your kind message and talking about Barber Halves.
To me, Barber Halves in vg=very good condition is enough.  I am only a small collector.
I love the in circulated condition.   Just imagine, if a coin can tell a story of, to how many persons hand, it went thro'???   It will be very interesting.
A good friend of mine told me that they can be obtained around six bucks each in vg.
If possible, kindly try to help me out.   I will inform what I have.
Thanking you and hoping to hear from you, soon.
Kindest regards
Sincerly
George
P.S:   Do you collect India coins or British India.   Please inform

I will see what my dealer has in stock the next time I am down there.

I would suggest you post your want list in the Coins Wanted thread as well as some of the members may have some of the Barbers you are looking for and be willing to trade.

Hi George,
I collect coins since I was a teenager.
But for US coins, I am a beginner. I collect German and Netherlands including Ned. Indie. If you have doubles, I am interested to swap with you. Send me your wanted list and let me know what country you interested. I live in California, so I could get you American coins (mostly D) too.
