Post by: Templar on September 19, 2009, 03:29:25 AM

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANY OF MY AUSSIE FRIENDS HAVE ACCESS TO A 1995 AUSTALIAN  DOLLAR HONORING A.B. BANJO PATERSON--WALTZING MATILDA --NOT THE PROOFS--BUT I WOULD LIKE 2 OR 3 IF POSSIBLE.

                THANKS VERY MUCH----THE TEMPLAR

Hi Templar,
I don't have a spare, but if no other Aussie can help out, they are available at some of the coin stores around here at a cost of $30 - $35. (can get one for you if needed). I've yet to come across one as yet though that is not somewhat toned. I'll also check on ebay after work this evening to see if any are going cheaper.

These were NCLT (Non Circulating Legal Tender), I think the US calls them NIFC? Usually only available from Coin Stores/Sellers now.

There were 4 different Mint Marks for them B (Brisbane), C (Canberra), S (Sydney), & M (Melbourne), from both the Portable Press and the main Press at Canberra, so there are 8 slightly different coins.

Unfortunately, I have 1 of each type & no spares.  I know someone who may let me have a few though, so I'll ask the question & let you know if there's any available.

templar, I presume you are talking about our pre-decimal pennies????

OR is it decimal 2 cent coins you are after.

As I collect pre-decimal pennies I have a number of duplicates.   Are you after specific years or what?

DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT--I HAVE BEEN HUNTING AROUND E-BAY AND WAS ABLE TO CATCH A COUPLE SO ANY MORE OF THOSE DOLLARS WOULD JUST BE NICE ADDITIONS TO MY BUDDING COLLECTION---AT LEAST IN MY SEARCH I DID LEARN THE WORDS TO THE SONG "WALTZING MATILDA" AND WHAT THE SONG IS REALLY ABOUT---IT WAS LIKE THE SONG "DANNY BOY"---SANG IT FOR YEARS BEFORE I ACTUALLY LEARNED WHO WAS SINGING TO WHO.

WELL I WILL BE WALTZING MATILDA THROUGH THE FALL COLORS OF MICHIGAN WAITING TO HEAR FROM YOU

OK Joe, found the few I had tucked away.   They are loose circulated coins,

How many do you need?
