2009 Wooden Dollars
January 15, 2010, 01:42:04 PM
The 2009 Wooden Dollars will be produced within the next two weeks. I finalized everything today but wanted to let each of you know these are a tad bit different. The reverse is something very ancient, historical and, at this time, storming back into the news. I will look forward to seeing how many of you will realize what reproduction you are holding in your hands! Maybe I will have to start a contest on this one? Will keep you posted as to when they will be added to the KOTCT STORE! This one is timely and yes it will play a role in my next books! Oh how I love a good mystery!!!  :o

Yes ElleKitty there will be a 2010 Woodie! We are playing catch-up right now as everyone expressed an interest in keeping our dated goodies consecutive which means we could NOT skip the 2009 date.

I will have to dream up something really wild for the 2010 obverse on our woodie! In the mean time it will be really interesting seeing how many of you will recognize the obverse on the 2009 woodie. Lets just say it will be very complex!

I was contacted today by Kramer Laser Kreations and advised, due to complexities of the design we would have to enlarge the wooden dollar by a quarter inch or change the design. I have agreed to increase the size of the wooden dollar to keep this timely design which should be quite unique in our series. Hope all of you can live with a bit larger woodie for 2009?

First TEN Knights or Knightesses to order and pay for 2009 Wooden Dollars will receive a small clear vial of KOTCT GOLD shavings. I only have 10 of these to offer and I have been told they are real gold shavings but don't have a clue for sure. One thing is for certain-they are gold in color! These are great conversation pieces and now you can add one to your world rarities collection! ;) Please see the official order thread and get your name on the list! Where else can you get so much value for so little? ;D

Maybe the world will hear about our limited time gold give away :o and everyone will want to join?

The decoder rings were cancelled due to a strike by the Amalagated Decoder Ring Workers Union! ;D

Have you put UNIQUE under a magnifying glass yet Templar? I would go as far to say you will be hearing a lot about the reverse of our coin as it has already started! Figuring out what it is is one thing. Knowing how to read it is another! Very few accomplish that task!

Last but not least, Templar I admire your restraint as there are many wishing to see that which you have seen!!! ;)

Hey Templar when you are ready for an educated guess feel free to email. Like it or not every one in the world will hear of what you are holding, if they haven't already, but they probably won't have the opportunity to have a copy like WE do! (Maybe it will become an Ebay money maker for us?) ;)

For hundreds of years thousands have studied it, very few have figured it out (if they actually did) and only a chosen few can decipher or read it! Can anyone here do it?

Yes there are a bunch of checks here now! The packages have been ready to go for days but cold and blowing snow have kept me at work and at home. Packages going out in the morning for ElleKitty, AdamL, Edix and Topher. Sorry for the delay but winter weather has not been kind to me this year. And, quite honestly, I am hoping for all of you to get yours about the same time as our Aussie friends. Of course Humpybong will have to turn loose of those extras pretty quickly as all other orders go out in the morning. :o

Hey Templar have you put it under a magnifying glass? Laser technology is pretty neat considering the small size of the image. Now we are going to have to come up with another intricate design for the 2010 Woodie and a new mystery to be solved. If any of you have such a challenge feel free to email me but keep in mind I will have to have a copy of the design!

Tobyle we have asked for a donation of $5 for two woodies plus a $1.50 for shipping. I did pay more for the woodies this year as they are a bit larger than normal so we could get a good rendition of the design.

Madspec is our official FIRST guardian of the secret but I do believe Templar is hiding some knowledge as well!!! ;)

EVERYONE who is waiting for a package---THEY ARE ALL IN THE MAIL! I AM OFFICIALLY CAUGHT UP!

Woodies arrived today, and I must say that the reverse is AMAZING!  I'm in awe of what can be done to a wooden nickel!  Now, how will we top it next year?  Oh, and I know what it is.  :D :D :D  But I'm not telling.  I do like the burnt wood smell that comes with them, too.

I am hoping one of our members can come up with a design, old or new, historical or educational, that will bring a challenge to laser technology and a mystery to our castle. Time will tell!

Hey Aussies! Our Canadian friend to the north KNOWS!!! ;D

I was a fireman for ten years so I prefer the woodie in an airtite!

Humpybong you are truly an asset to our little community. I can't thank you and all the others enough for the assistance with our projects in the last few years. Our volunteers simply are the greatest people and coin collectors in the world. it takes everyone of us to succeed at sometimes impossible quests. We have not failed to date and that says so much about the quality of people sharing this forum. My hat is off to all of you!!!

Now Humpybong I did not see any remark concerning the 2009 mystery woodie? Do we have you stumped or are you remaining quiet until your other friends in OZ get to see them? ;)

My Gold, ASE and Woodies have arrived!  ;D  ;D

Thanks to Terry and Barry for taking such good care of them!  :D  ;)

I've put the reverse of the Woodie under very close scrutiny, and have a vague idea what it might be, but am probably well wide of the mark.  ::)

I received my woodies today, thanks you Twoshadows and Humpybong. Was I meant to get 3?
I knew what the reverse was before I even finished unwrapping them. The rest of my Family didn't have a clue.

Triggersmob you were meant to get 3! You sent a little extra if I remember correctly so I sent a little extra in return!

Pocketcoins and Templar we will wait a few more days to hear from a few Aussies who may still be waiting on their woodies before spilling the mystery!

It is amazing that a laser can put a historical design of one of the oldest known ______s in the world on such a small piece of wood! Just think how smart we all would be if we had the ability to read that which is right before our eyes!

Yes we may be on to something here! Now PLEASE keep in mind in the next few months we will proceed with the 2010 Woodie and I will most definitely want something from somewhere around the world to stump everyone with again. If you have an idea please email me because who knows what I might come up with next! ;)

Just think how great it would be if we could reproduce on a 12 to 20 inch wooden disc! Then perhaps we could really find out what we do not know? I am sure there are scholars in the world who can read this but darn few of them. I guess my question would be, "Do we really think this particular group had the knowledge to produce this item? Many early civilizations were far ahead of their time and did not have the tools or ability to possess that which they possessed? The explanation is right in front of our faces yet mankind in all his arrogance can't see the forest for the trees! (Guess you will have to wait on book three!) ;)

Sssssssorrrrrry! I guess I need to spend some time in the naughty corner ........

But yes - I've been working bl......dy hard lately. Got thrown into the deep end relieving my boss for 3 months. What I wasn't told before he left was that 3 months actually meant at least 6 months (silly me for not realizing that at the time) and that it also included getting involved in some statewide projects that I had no idea about. I think I've already in the past month accumulated 1 week time in lieue (pity they don't let us take it!).
To make it harder still, have had to make regular trips to Melbourne lately as Mum has been hospitalized since Dec and has not been going too well.
