2007 Wooden Dollar Orders---Post Here
October 28, 2007, 11:27:11 PM
Well it appears there will be 2007 Woodies so I will start accepting orders here. At this time, unless someting changes, they will cost us a $1.75 each so we will sell them in pairs 2 wooden dollars) for $5.00 and charge another $1 for shipping. Everyone placing an order by November 15th will also receive our 2006 woodie as well for each pair of 2007s ordered. The money we make will go into the medallion fund, hopefully to offset any increase in the cost of silver, so our 2008 medallions will be the same price (or less) if possible. Will keep everyone posted on any profits made!

Note: The photo's are not the best but this ought to give you an idea of what you will be receiving.

NOTE: THE DEADLINE FOR ORDERING 2007 WOODEN DOLLARS IS MIDNIGHT NOVEMBER 15, 2007!!! The holidays are approaching so we will take a break and then focus on upcoming 2008 quests.

Got all of you written down so I suppose I need a spread sheet now? You have a few options in making payments. As always there is PayPal, sending a check (in the U.S.) or sending U.S. cash. In any event I will need your current mailing address so email me with your address and payment method prefered. I will inturn provide you with my address and or PayPal ID. These should be ready to mail within 2 weeks and unless there is a large demand 50 may be all I have made for 2007 as 2008 is bearing down on us. If we continue the wood series I will get the 2008s ready pretty quickly next year so that they may play a factor in the 2008 medallion quest.

A PayPal link would be great.   Maybe able to use it for other transactions like (2008 medals) as well.

You come up with some great ideas TKO.

I will toss in a couple of extra coins before I post them to you today!

If I have counted correctly 30 of the 50 are already sold (ordered at this time). We will watch this closely as I can up the order in the event we go over 50 woodies. I know Nevol (Nancy) is also considering buying extras to keep on hand for future Aussie orders. I think the 2008 Woodie should ALSO be a tribute to the Knightess to match the Medallion Quest? What do you think on that and, given the amount of time we have, I am sure we could come up with a BEAUTIFUL LADY in the design? Always thinking ahead aren't we! Looks like 2008 will be the year of the Knightess!

I may have another little surprise on the horizon but won't say anything until I get a confirmation. Will keep you posted!

I intend to see these 50 woodies go before I will re-order and even then I would like an idea exactly what we will be needing to satisfy demand. With the manufacturer being only 5 miles from the house it will be convenient should I need more produced and they have guaranteed me they will produce any number needed between now and the end of the year.

I will try and get the prototype back to you tomorrow (with a little luck)! Thanks for the effort as I think most of the members are waiting for a glimpse of these. I might add they fit perfectly into a 38mm airtite an look pretty darn good protected there! Got to make sure the termites don't get to my woodies! You know, now that I give it a little thought, thats probably what happened to all the coins of the medieval period! King Arthur used wood and the darn bugs got to all of them and that explains the mysterious absence of coinage for that period? Sounds good to me! Another world mystery solved right here at KOTCT!

I would like to order the 2007 woody.  I understand there is a possibility of getting a 2006 also.  I'll have one of them too.  I don't have a paypal account.  I dleted it with a nasty note to paypal (simply dissasistfied, nothing untoward).

Would it be possible for me to pay viadirect bank deposit to an Aussie member and then have that member order on my behalf?  The woodies can be mailed together to save costs (or seperately).

Alternatively, If there are anu US members who want an Aussie I can either buy something from Bigfella and have him ship it to you, or another alternative is that I send you coins or notes to an agreed value.

Any other suggestions?

Photos are now posted on the first page of this thread. Not great photos but it will give you an idea what was done. Maybe I should try the scanner for these woodies? I might point out the edges of these 38mm woodies are reeded! Quite unique for a wooden dollar!

Packages went out today by turtle express for Australia to Bm1947, Yass and Nevol! And one local to ndgoflo. All paid orders are now enroute and others will be shipped as payments arrive.

I/WE will end the 2007 wooden dollar program on Nov. 15th so we all can take a break and look forward to the 2008 programs.

Terry,

The package arrived in today's mail.  Thanks.

I talked briefly with the rider before he headed toward Grand Junction and then on to Salt Lake City.  He said he picked up the saddle bags at Omaha, and had no relief to help him out, so is making the trip by himself.  That's why he said he was a bit late.  Luckily, he will take a few days off in SLC, and then grab more mail and head east again.  Those guys, and their valiant steeds, sure work hard.

The 2007 Wooden Dollars look good, and I think I'll use the large U.S. penny as a pocket piece.

Let me know how much to PayPal you (and the address, just to be sure), and I'll send it to you tonight.

Thanks again!!
