2006 Wooden Dollar Sale!!
January 17, 2009, 06:11:12 PM
It turns out that Twoshadows and I have come across some extra 2006 KOTCT Wooden Dollars.

They are two inches across, have a Knight on horseback on one side, an eagle on the other.  They are dated 2006, and each has a number.  Labeling includes "Knight of the Coin Table" (obverse) on one side, and "World Wide Collector" (reverse) on the other.

If there is any interest in them, perhaps we can raise a few dollars for the Royal Treasury, especially since we should soon be mailing out the 2008 medals.

How about $1 each, which would include postage.  If the buyer lives in Australia, Europe or Asia, perhaps $2 would be fair.  Any member wanting more would offer a fair price I'm sure.

Anybody interested can send me a PM or e-mail, and I will send my mailing address to them.

As mentioned, each dollar has a number, and they are listed below.

It's not the postage that is an issue, but the overseas payment.  I'll have two if there is a kind soul in Oz that can pass on my payment. I am willing to donate A$5 each.  Number doesn't matter, and I will settle for 1 if that is all that is available.

Thanks Barry,
PM me you Direct Deposit details and I will send some money your way.  I'll provide enough to cover paypal, postage and contibution to the treasury.

Coincrusader,
With regard to a number, if my Knight number is available then save me that one.  As previously posted, if another is available, I'll have two.

TKO
Note that the thankyou facility isn't working.

Thank you for your kind gesture.  While on the subject of kind gestures, I will point out that thanks are also due your way.  I have just received your package via the turtle service. It took 5 weeks  ;D but arrived safe and sound containing much appreciated coinage.

I will have to consider an alternative method of contributing to the Royal Treasury. Let me put my think cap on.  :)

Hey Yass.....you could start an auction or two, with the proceeds going to the Royal Treasury.

Hey Yass.....you could start an auction or two, with the proceeds going to the Royal Treasury.

Yep, that is what I'm thinking of.  I shall give some thought to the type of offering. e.g., rolls (unc or circulated), nclt, errors (cuds), or perhaps a set of the 2001 federation 20c or 50c. Maybe an upset or as our American friends call them, a rotational error. What about a set of circulated 50 cents? (or other denominations)?

I have thousands of coins, mostly packed in different boxes. The majority have been sourced from circulation, but they are generally problem free.

Putting together an auction will take a few weeks as all my coins are now boxed and stored securely offsite, and I work 100 hours a week which leaves little time to visit the vault.

Are there any collectors in the forum that collect errors?  I know of some of the rabbit collectors.

Any thoughts? What would generate some interest?  Don't be shy. Apart from the nclt and mint purchased coins, all my coins have been taken from circulation so the cost to me is minimal.

What about a bag of mixed up coins. About a year ago I traded for some coins from a good firend of mine and one of the things that I got was a bag of mixed world coins. None of them were what we would usualy think of as valuable but I sure did enjoy going thoue them.  :)

I'll probably end up takiing approx 10 of the spare 2006 Woodies, but I'm holding back to give everyone else a chance at them first.  I'll just have them on reserve here in Australia for any newbie Aussies that join up.   ;D

It doesn't seem like there's many interested parties though.  ??? ??? ???

I already have a couple of them. It might be nice to have those  stashed away for future members though.

Oh well, never mind Gary.  I'll still take 10 of them.

There's always new members joining up & there may be some of them who'd be interested in acquiring some in the future.

I look at it this way, they're not costing anything to keep, so as long as the space they're in isn't needed desperately for some really important coins (or other stuff), I say just keep 'em.  ;D

Let me know how much to send, and who to send it to.  You or Terry?

Should I start a thread for 2009 Woodies? I/We are already looking into the design but I would like to know that there is a possiblility of selling off at least 40 of 50 I am required to buy. This makes it worthwhile for Kramer Laser Creations to make them for us.

Yes please.  Let's get 2009 Woodies organised ASAP. I'll take at least 10.

There you go, your first order.

Might be best to start a new thread though.  ;D ;D
