Earthquake in Lebanon
April 28, 2008, 11:21:58 AM
A big earthquake with the strength of 8.1 on the Richter scale has hit Lebanon.

Two million Lebanese have died and over a million are injured.

The country is totally ruined and the government doesn't know where to start with providing help to rebuild.

The rest of the world is in shock.

The United States is sending troops to help.

Saudi Arabia is sending oil.

Latin American countries are sending supplies.

The small island country of New Zealand is sending sheep, cattle and food crops.

The European community (except France) is sending money.

The Asian continents are sending labour to assist in rebuilding infrastructure.

The Australians, not to be outdone, are sending two million replacement Lebanese.

God Bless Our Aussie generosity.

21 million Aussies.

11 million Belguins.

New York City and surrounding area has an estimeated 24 million.

Here, in all of western Colorado, we have perhaps 200,000.  Nice to live in a place where it's still possible to go places and see wide open spaces, and very few to no people.

I would love to visit Australia someday.  I would assume most of the population lives on the sea coast, and very few in the interior.

 :D :D :D :D

Your assumption is correct. We are a nation of fringe dwellers.

If that is the case I would have to apply for residency in the interior. The outback would be the place for me!
