Medallions

Offline SirStacksALot

Here is the order list.  I will start calculating prices once we have general numbers of how many of each medal people would like.  Prices will probably be similar to last year if we have about the same interest.  The design will be of Daniels creation.

The choices are:

39mm 1oz Silver Round Semi-Proof

39mm 1oz Silver Cob Colored/Antiqued

39mm Round Copper Semi-Proof

39mm Round Copper Color-Toned

39mm Round Brass Semi-Proof

39mm Round Brass Antiqued

Loose 1965 Churchill Overstrike for Castle Treasury

50mm 2oz Silver Cob (Daniel's choice of finish)

50mm 3oz Silver Round Semi-Proof like

Please place your order as soon as possible, and be ready to write a check and send it at the beginning of May.  I will only be using paypal for those that are overseas.

Thanks

Offline SirStacksALot

Here is an updated order list.  I am unsure if we will see the preliminary design, or if we will have a chance to add to our orders after May 1st.  Hopefully the answer is yes to both, but I can't make any guarantees.  You can change your order if you would like before April 30th.

The updated order spreadsheet is posted below, and I have made a preliminary cost calculating spreadsheet.  If we have about the same amount of orders that we had last year, the prices of the 39mm medals will probably drop about $4-$7, and the prices of the 50mm medals will probably drop about $10 to $15.  Of course the silver medal prices will go up or down with the spot price of silver.

A few people replyed to the email, and it went straight to TKO.  He did forward the emails, but I am not sure if I have all the orders that came by email.  If you did respond to the email.  Please repost your order her or PM me.  Please also mention that you did respond to the email with an order. Here is the final order list, the price calculating list, and a chart with the final prices.   I used a spot price of $17, which will not be locked in until Daniel buys the silver.  This will be after all the funds are collected and sent to Daniel.   Although unlikely, if spot goes way over $17 at the time the silver is purchased, we may have to collect more funds.  Shipping is included just like last year.   Any leftover funds will stay with the treasury.

I have to run a few more calculations to make sure the numbers are right, and I will start collecting funds after that.

All payments will be made by check unless you are outside the US.  For those who don't know, Paypal froze about $8000 last year, and it was a mess.
Read the thread in last years medal quest for more info.  I think they wanted to see immediate tracking numbers (they guarantee purchases)  since so much cash was coming in all at once.  We are avoiding Paypal as much as possible.   If this is your first year making an order, or if your information has changed form last year, please message me the following information:

- The address that you would like your medals shipped to

- A good contact email

Got my check book ready

Offline SirStacksALot

I have been working on the invoices for the past week, and I finally had them ready to send out last night.  So I thought.......

All of the invoices were sent.  The emails bounced back on two of them, and I sent pms to those two members.

Matttheriley found an error on the invoice that effects anyone who ordered a 3oz Silver Semi-Proof Round 50mm.  The price for each one of these was supposed to be $78 each not $89.  I used the invoice from the 2017 medals as a template, and accidentally left the old price in the box.  I will be sending out another email to all those affected.

If you haven't sent your check yet, please send the check for the corrected amount  with the 3oz  priced at $78, not $89.  If you have already sent the check for the incorrect amount I will send a refund check for difference.  Sorry about the mistake.

I have attached a blank invoice picture below with the error noted in red.  I have also attached the final price list, and an updated order list with a few small changed requested by members which did not effect the final prices.

That's fine, but Daniel himself said he was hoping to have them completed by the end of May, because he wanted the second half of the year to work on his personal projects.

Indium seems like an odd choice for coins/medals. According to Wikipedia it is so soft that it can be cut with a knife. The pictures look like silver.

Offline CA Collector

Indium has a brilliant luster. So I'm guessing it'll be attractive.

Should be interesting to compare with silver coins - - especially strike and luster.

Not worried about softness - - it's a non-circulating collectible. I'd like one. But my general preference is silver.

Offline SirStacksALot

I haven't heard anything new with our 2018 medals since the last update.

That said, I do have some of the 2017 medals leftover in the castle coffers....  The last package was delivered about a month ago to Turkey, it took about 3 months to make it there. It went all the way there, came back to the US, traveled around a little while, went back to Turkey, then made it to Renal.   Now that all of the 2017 medals are delivered, most of the medals can be placed in the hands of our members.  There are some pretty cool medals left.  Be on the lookout for a contest to win some of the leftover 2017 medals.  I have a few ideas, and will post some details in the next week or so.

The following users thanked this post: MattTheRiley, HʘʘT Owl

I like the contest idea.

And maybe give new members - - who joined too late to order - - a random drawing to determine who gets first choice to buy a leftover 2017 medal.
